After a long journey from Australia, we arrived in Marrakech and had high expectations Riad Noir as the photos and description look amazing. There was miscommunication between the transfer driver and Riad so we had to take our luggage through the Medina streets to find the Riad ourselves.
Ive stayed in many Moroccan Riad's and this one is the largest and we booked one of their Suites, its a grand space, some of the fittings are broken and not well maintained but overall the accomodation is ok.
The restaurant is open to the public and they have live music playing loudly until 11pm and then the bar remains open to midnight with music playing - you can hear everything. There is no communication about the loud live music, so if you want to relax and get a good nights sleep - this is not the place for you.
I communicated with the proprietor who, on the night was quite rude, and then overly apologetic the next day with offers of free Hammam's or that he would look after us at dinner. We did have dinner at the restaurant, and I'll start by saying the food was actually very good. The service was all over the place, white wine poured when we ordered Red, asking what we wanted to eat before we both had menus, napkins provided to us half way thought our main course. It was just a strange dinner experience, we both just wanted to eat and leave.
This place has so much potential, its a great space, poorly executed. Would not recommend purely on the noise factor.
