We recently stayed at the Vanderbilt during the week of Christmas, and while we had high hopes for our holiday getaway, our experience was somewhat mixed. Despite booking our stay six months in advance, we were disappointed to find out upon a couple of hours before check-in that the room we had specifically requested was unavailable due to maintenance issues.
However, our family was determined to make the most of our time there. The hotel's location is undoubtedly its greatest asset, providing easy access to local attractions and the festive spirit of the season. Unfortunately, the hotel restaurant was closed for much of our stay due to the holiday. Additionally, we found that the other limited amenities offered by the hotel were not very appealing.
While the cleanliness of our room could have been improved, we felt that the hotel does not offer much beyond its well-known name. We truly wished for the original room we booked and had expected a more festive atmosphere in line with the holiday season. Overall, while we managed to enjoy our family time together, our stay at the Vanderbilt did not quite meet our expectations.
