We were traveling with our son. We got a large room with an additional bed for him, this is one of the rooms they highlight as it has a wall decoration from the late 1600s. The room was a last-minute booking and crazy expensive at about $750 per night, but we thought OK it's a high-class hotel. Turns out it isn't.
On the plus side, the beds were comfortable and the hot breakfast was good, although missing any espresso (filtered coffee only), and we got a late checkout (13:00).
Bathroom in our large room was absolutely tiny - shower water sprayed the entire tiny floor and toilet seat.
All plumbing and electrical was external. It's an old building, I get it, but the room felt cheap because of it.
Room was very cold when we arrived (mid May, weather was mild). Only one of three radiators had been turned on before our arrival. With hotel assistance, all were turned to max and it was OK although that first evening we thought it would be too cold.
When I asked for an iron and ironing board, I was told I could pick it up any time I liked. I said we were leaving for the evening and I would need it tomorrow morning, front desk reiterated that I could pick it up at the front desk when needed. Not the type of service I expect at a 4-star hotel - I would have expected them to offer to bring it to the room while we were away so it would be ready the morning after. Most of the other staff we interacted with was trying their best though, and were helpful and friendly.
