Downgraded on our 2nd visit
This was our second time visiting as we had found it a good all rounder 2 months earlier. We booked a deluxe double again which had a small living area as per the hotels.com photo. This time we were put in a much smaller room with no living area however our friends, whose room I had booked at the same time (a deluxe double) were given an upgrade of a family suite! They had been given, at no extra cost, 2 bedrooms, living room, dining room and a kitchen with a super large balcony whilst we were in a very small albeit cosy ‘deluxe’ double. We had a totally different experience which I found extremely unfair considering I had made the booking, had visited before and had paid exactly the same room rate. The hotel itself is lovely, the staff are friendly, it never seems busy other than the pool area on a sunny day so would I recommend it, yes, but I did find it extremely unfair that we had a much smaller, very dark room this time. I did visit reception who said they were fully booked and there was nothing they could do, they did eventually accept that as I was staying for 4 nights, if I wanted to I could hand my keys back at 10am the next day and come back at 4pm to be moved to the deluxe room with the living area (as per the photo) but we just wanted to unpack & relax after a 2 day journey from the UK.
