Comfortable Historic Stay

Perfect Silverton stay! Historic unique hotel/hostel. It was clean and comfortable. They let our dog stay and they even allowed us to store our mountain bikes. We had a great time!

This place was pretty awesome, this is the first hostel (ish) place Ive stayed at in the U.S. and they nailed it w all the right vibes. We actually stayed in the private room (fire room?) The staff (patrick?) Was increadibly kind and knowledgeable. Our room was lovely, many unique furniture pieces. The common areas are wonderful, group seating, games, musical instruments. We will be back for a linger stay later this fall.

Room is clean and property is unique. This is our second time staying here. Went with a room with shared bathroom this time. No concerns about shared bathroom as there are multiple bathrooms available. Love that everyone is on a different kind of adventure. Great option for the adventurous traveler. I was adventuring solo for a few days and stayed in the 3-bed hostel room at the Avon. The room was small but the bed was comfy, the amenities were nice (i.e. towels and toiletries in the bathroom), and the staff was welcoming and helpful. It is a funky, cozy, old-timey spot in the mountains, with a covered porch with rocking chairs so you can sit outside and look at the mountains winding down after a day of hiking or having your morning coffee. I would definitely stay there again. Thanks to Pat for all the help making this a great mini-vacation!

Second time at the Avon. Stayed as part of a trip to hike Ice Lake. Bonus for this place is it is a stopover for though-hikers on the Colorado Trail. Great to talk with the hikers about their adventures. Will be back!
