Very disappointing
There is no trace of the magnificent environment seen in the pictures. The rooms smell musty. My pillow smelled at night. Breakfast was a disaster. There was almost nothing there. Really our stay was a disappointment. We booked this hotel thinking it was one of the good hotels in the city. While our friends were staying in a much cheaper hotel, we chose this hotel based on the pictures. Our friends' hotel was many times better. Very disappointing

The only area that needs improvement is the quality of the restaurant’s food and the prices which are extremely high in comparison with the food’s current prices in other restaurants that provide excellent quality around the area.

This property was brilliant - fully old colonial style, fantastic rooms. We felt quite royal being able to spend time here. Staff were excellent, serviced well, polite, and almost all spoke English (which is rare in Cuba). The hotel had a VPN built in to its WiFI, which was brilliant, which we also never experienced before. We also had the best breakfast ever. Overall - vey happy !!!!

Hotel Baron is worth it if you want to experience staying at a beautiful colonial building. The service is good and people are helpful, although breakfast was a bit disappointing. The price is comparatively high, given that you don’t me never get a better experience than in many casas particulares, but worth a night stay if you value the aesthetics of the building.

Beautiful little hotel
Absolutely beautiful building. Great attentive staff. Very comfortable pillows and mattress. Rooms were clean on arrival but had to pay for further room service and I was there three nights. I've dropped a star because I think the room was a little over priced, esp combined with the fact you have to pay for your room to be cleaned. WiFi was brilliant though, well when there was no blackout (which cannot be helped by anyone), no disconnecting like a lot of places I've stayed and didn't block me from doing every day admin. Front door was kept locked, so great for security.

The room (e.g. the bathroom) was really clean, but the entire hostal is over 100 years old. It is true that it was kept in a good condition (the furniture were super old school), however sleeping in a 100 year old bed and room wasn't the coolest feeling in our trip. The room had a smell of old stuff which made us feel suffocating after a couple of minutes of staying inside. I was happy not to sleep more than one night in that room... the breakfast was nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful though. The location to reach the city was also perfect!
