We returned to this "resort" for a second time, and were greeted warmly by the manager, who remembered us. The atmosphere & comfort were unchaged, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The setting is wonderful for relaxing -- rural, quiet, at some distance from the tourist strip leading to Khao Yai National Park. The facility is well maintained, the rooms are spacious & clean with refrigerator & TV (although I don't know why one would watch TV is such a lovely natural setting). One could birdwatch in the afternoon, take a swim, then stargaze in the evening.
A varied buffet breakfast is included. Dinners were good, mostly Thai with toned down chili level. We particularly liked the local ruby red fish, but the house wine was barely palatable.
Although they can arrange services such as massage, the focus is on nature and having a comfortable rest between excursions into the national park.
The multi-tasking staff serve as nature guides and dining room servers without missing a beat.
I found the nature guiding to be superb. The guides expertly tracked a troop of gibbons in the forest, enabling us to have an extended view of feeding & nurturing behavior. One of them helped everybody with photography (cell phone photos & videos through their telescope). The other explained what we were seeing in a rare sighting of a Chinese serow.
Some of our fellow guests have been coming here for 15 years. I can understand why.
