The hotel, the rooms, the grounds, the breakfast, the staff, are all excellent, very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We were upgraded from a superior room with balcony & sea view to a studio with balcony & sea view. It was a lovely start to our visit when checking in. Sitting around the outside pool in the beach area was also very pleasant. Plenty of space on the beach and easy to order a drink.
I do however have two slightly negative comments, which remove it from being a perfect stay for us:
Firstly: subject to paying a fairly hefty price, the pool & beach area is open to anyone else who isn't staying at the hotel. Which means the pool was very busy and rowdy at times, which didn't make it feel like you were staying at an exclusive 5 star hotel.
Secondly: we booked the more expensive hotel transfer (a black Mercedes S class) instead of a regular taxi, to take us to the airport. Annoyingly, our flight was cancelled less than six hours before. I subsequently tried to re-arrange the transfer but was told I could not do this for free as it was cancelled within 24 hours. Essentially I would have to pay again. This was not at all helpful given the already high impact a 24 hour flight delay would cause us.
However, to give them credit, after pushing back and discussing with many staff including the hotel manager, they did offer a free exchange and so we drove to another hotel for our last night. Just a shame it left a slightly sour taste.
