I thought I was on Marriot website, but somehowExpedia had taken payment for the reservation. When I called the hotel the next day to ask a question, I was told I had been scammed by Expedia and this was a common occurrence. The Marriot rep told me if there was a problem during my stay no adjustment nor refund would be made because it was an Expedia transaction.
There was something wrong with the thermostat in our room. The temperature outside that night was 12*F and frigid blowing wind. Our room was chilly and we adjusted the thermostat. Instead of having a comfortable heat, the A/C would kick on high and blow cold air across the room. I went to front desk. The rep came to the room and said it was set correctly and didn’t know what to tell us. There was no manager at night. By midnight it was worse. I was getting a sore throat and my husband was shivering uncontrollably. I went to the desk again. There was a different rep and he immediately changed our room. We had to re-pack and move our things in the middle of the night, but at least we were warm. We had chosen this hotel as recommended by the hospital next door because my husband was scheduled for surgery. The next day while in the hospital waiting room, the husband of another patient said he had been scammed and re-directed to the Expedia site. He told me his transaction had cost him an additional fee. I didn’t want to leave a negative review, but your emails keep asking me to review. Here is my honest review.
