We flew from the States to Rome excited to stay at a B&B only to be greeted with locked gates. When I called the guy, he said that there was a mistake and there was not a booking for us the ENTIRE WEEK (I had booked this on Expedia in November last year.) He said for us to call back in 5 minutes and he would call Expedia.
Well, 5 minutes passed and the number was not worked. 30 minutes and still nothing. I called several times. At this point, I was frustrated, cold, and tired and my husband was feeling the same way. I called Expedia and they were having the same trouble getting a hold of this guy! After an hour and a half of standing outside in the city of Rome, we finally get an answer from Expedia (Not the owner). He tells them that there was an "issue" with the booking, and that he didn't have us down for the first night, but the rest of the week he did...
At that point, we were angry, hangry, tired, and freezing! We didn't have a place to stay the first night in Rome.
A sweet neighbor let us come in to use the restroom & get warm. (Thank God!) After talking to a neighbor of his, this is apparent not the first time this has happened.
Super long story shortened, We decided to stay at the Hotel Re Di Roma (AMAZING), and requested for a refund (even if it meant a penalty.), and of course this guy refuses. Expedia tried to get our money back and he still refused. almost $400 USD gone!
Moral: Do NOT stay here - listen (read) the reviews and stay somewhere else!!!
