Good location, quaint

The Plainfield Inn has rooms in two quaint historic houses within walking distance of Plainfield's quaint downtown, which has many historic buildings and several good restaurants. It has the feel of a bed and breakfast but with no breakfast.

We had a great stay . Location to downtown Plainfield was great. Stairs to go up to room are steep but this nearly 150 year old house is well maintained. Room was very clean and had plenty of room / space. Bed was very comfortable and private bathroom was great to have! Owner was very responsive and helped make sure our stay was a good experience.

8/10 Very good

We enjoyed staying at the Plainfield Inn. There was good communication between us and the manager making check in easy. There is parking which is convenient but it’s a bit tricky maneuvering while backing out.

It is a very quaint home. Stairs are very narrow and steep for anyone with difficulty. Place was very quiet, bed comfy. Bathroom very spacious and updated. We were only there one night but would stay again.

It's a renovated historical building but still has the original character and charm, which I really liked. Super easy check-in/out process, very clean. Owner is very communicative & organized. Good sized fridge & Keurig in the room with a microwave to share in the foyer area, so that was nice. Cute little downtown area with restaurants, shops & a little park. We felt very safe. Property has a tree swing out front that my granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed. We were visiting the museums, etc in Chicago but didn't want to stay in the city so this worked out perfectly.

This was our second time staying here and it’s just perfect every time. Plainfield is such a charming area ans we love being able to walk out the door and have our choice of amazing restaurants. Also, Justin went above and beyond making sure we were comfortable and texted to check in with us. The rooms are nice and cute and clean with everything you need. We will definitely be back!

Exceeded our expectations. We live in northwest suburbs & we were attending my sister’s funeral services at Overman-Jones. The convenience of the Inn allowed us to focus on family friends & know we had a safe haven for the night.

This historic inn was just beautiful and well appointed. Once I was able to sort out the "system" of codes to get in and out of the buildings and rooms, it was GREAT to not have to worry about a key. I booked a large group of family to attend a wedding just around the corner from this inn and it was wonderful. If you have a family gathering and want to have a lovely quiet stay, choose this inn. The beautiful commercial street close by had lovely bakeries, coffee house and was charming. The venue for our family wedding "Sanctuary" was around the corner and allowed for our elderly grandma to make it there safely.

8/10 Very good

Room was small and we did have a neighbor who had a dog who was noisy. The dog needed to go up and down stairs several times a night which woke us up each time. The room was so small that when we put the suitcase on the floor we had to step over suitcase to get to bathroom. Other than that it’s very nice and clean and comfortable. Stairs are really tough to manage with heavy suitcase and parking can be bad if you come back late. The Parking availability is not the greatest. Close to town which is super nice for evening walks. In nice area and across from park - great for kids.

A Cozy Inn with a Historical Significance

My brother and I had a great stay at the Inn while attending the 2024 Plainfield Homecoming. The room was cozy and inviting . The bathroom was stylish and up to date. It was a good idea to have a kitchen and have everything that one would need to do some cooking. Justin, we enjoyed our talk with you Saturday morning about the history of the Inn. We’re descendants of Chester Ingersoll. We enjoyed seeing the room that you named Ingersoll. It’s a good idea that you shared about the history of the Inn and how it grew along with the growth of Plainfield. Plainfield is a unique town that still carries its small town love for people, its proud heritage and history, as well as cultivating an atmosphere of kindness to all that stay even for a while to enjoy the beautiful scenic buildings and majestic rolling fields of corn and soybeans. The Village Green is a wonderful spot to relax and watch all the children and families enjoy its offerings. Thank you Justin. Bruce Hopkins, Plainfield (Central) High School Class of 1977
