We call the hotel to let them know that we were in our way and that we were going to arrive 8:30. At 8:10 they didn´t bother to answear the phone. Avoid this hotel if your are looking for flexibility and good service.

Easy 30 minute walk to the train station. Lovely old building with comfortable rooms. The reception isnt manned until the evenings, we needed to drop our bags early and the breakfast chef was so helpful

Very run down. Booked with breakfast included. Was told on arrival they have no food available for any meal time. Gym was filthy. Shower was mouldy. Reception unattended on arrival. Had to look for staff member. When I left at 8:30 the reception was all locked up. No staff around. No receipt for stay. Have emailed but had no response. Travels a lot with work and this is the worst place I have stayed.

our stay included breakfast, but when we got there, we were told there is no breakfast as the kitchen was being refurbished. Please can you inform me as to a refund for the breakfast for 2 days

The checkin time was late. Hotel was closed until 20mins after the 4pm checkin time. Speaking to regulars they say it's quite common. Not impressed. The owner stated the Hotel will be turned into flats in 2026?

a few of us were waiting outs in the cold waiting for someone to let us in. nobody answered the phone numbers that were on display on the door. after 30 min we got an answer, only because i texed one of the numers. the beds are pooir you can feel the springs. then the fire alarm went off at 8 am

Staff got sworn at with foul language because we had issue with room amenities was non existent room was filthy could not close the outside door so everything was soaking wet

Kettle was so disgusting third world countries have better hygiene
Outside would not shut so freezing and everything was wet
The bathroom felt cleaner before I was going to use it

The staff were friendly and welcoming, but the hotel itself looks like it needs quite a lot of money spending on it to update it. The room was chilly (radiator needed bleeding) and water pressure in the shower was virtually non-existent.

Receptionist said Bol..cks when I told him I had breakfast included. Is 9 am until 10 he added but tuesday it will start at 8 am. I accepted this as had no choice. Tuesday at 8 am kitchen locked up and no breakfast. Room carpet was stained and filthy with the rest of the room little better. I will avoid this hotel forever!

AVOID.

Terrible, AVIOD. . No heating, unclean, past its best. . Within 15 minutes of arriving, I was searching for a different hotel in the area and checked out. . Mold, repairs & decoration urgently needed. . It was however the requirement to be taken on a walk through corridors and various rooms to be shown the fire exit as the main door would be locked at 8pm. . Mugs in the room unwashed and no heating on. . Felt unsafe and unclean to stay. Room 12.

The hotel building itself is beautiful, however the maintenance of it hasn't been upkept in the grounds. The pool was freezing cold, hot tub isn't filled up, sauna was turned off and my partner and I turned it on and got it running. The rooms themselves were comfortable however the system for the water tanks is incredibly loud and woke us up whenever someone in another room flushed a toilet or used a tap. The breakfast food was lovely, very delicious but with a very small amount of staff, I think things struggled to run more smoothly. It was a very basic hotel and for one night, it was good to stay in. However, I would not be rushing to return.

Nice friendly greeting. Rooms are tired. Quite cold also given Sept. Breakfast times were a little rigid but understood why. Breakfast quality and service was great. Not a bad stay. Reasonable value whilst including breakfast

The property is a wonderful grade II listed building with oodles of character. The breakfast room is exquisitely decorated with busts of famous peots in which you can eat a sumptuous cooked full english breakfast. The property is wonderfully peaceful and the beds as beautifully soft and comfortable. If you are looking for a modern sparse hotel then this is not it, and you should look elsewhere. If you like a wonderful property with bags of history to it then you are in luck!
