Ants and spiders, noise, cigarette, poor service
On 6 April—the day daylight saving ended—I was knocked on my door before 9:15 AM and again at 9:55 AM for check‑out, even though check‑out is at 10 AM. Following the correct time, the early knocks were unprofessional. When I returned my key, Tony, the male owner, questioned me about leaving the exhaust fan on. I used it for ventilation due to cigarette smoke, and being micromanaged over this was ridiculous—especially at $120 per night.
People smoked and chatted loudly outside, and with the motel being next to the road and cars parked right outside the rooms, you’re woken early by constant traffic noise. Construction workers also stay here, adding to the noise starting at 6 AM. I stayed in Room 12 for the first night and Room 8 for the rest. In Room 8, ants were in the bathroom and near the cupboard, and I woke up to a huntsman spider on the shower curtain.
Housekeeping was poor. Despite requesting service every other day, my towels weren’t replaced, and only shampoo (not soap) was refilled. At check‑ins, I rang the bell three times and waited 5 minutes, with Linda offering no apology. They were usually in their house at the back, not at reception, and I could hear the constant phone ringing unanswered from Room 8.
I was denied late check‑out on 6 April, even though I had requested it at booking. I also asked for a tax invoice for my business trip, but they didn’t provide one.
Would not recommend at all!
