My problem is with Lost Beach Vacation Rentals. I had pre-payed for the Paloma Blanca, but 3-4 days prior to arrival, only when I called the company, I was notified that the unit at the Paloma Blanca is not available. We were redirected to Bahia Encantada. I only wonder what would have happened if I had not called! At Bahia Encantada, while it had some nice features, we were given a unit, which rents for $102 a night off the Lost Beach Vacations website. At checkout, they told me my total was $1550 or so, but when I asked for refund, since I pre-paid $1950, I was denied and told my condo was of higher value than Paloma Blanca.
Our stay there was not without issues too. The guest bathroom had a horrible stench coming from the drain (we guessed), which made it difficult to use. Also, 2/3rd into our stay the drier broke and we were not offered any alternatives, even though most of the units were empty! This made a stay with a 22 month old baby challenging. There was no wifi also - our unit had no dedicated wifi and we had to connect to various other community networks, which were very slow. Since we spent 9 nights there, I had hoped to do some work, but sadly the bad wifi quality made it impossible.
Lastly, on the Orbitz website it says that there is transportation to and from the hotel from San Jose, which costs $100. It was $125 one-way.
