Ok, first the pros, because there were: they offer simply breakfast (coffee or chocolate, bread and croissant, and oj), and there is train station just across street, so transportation was good. Now, cons: there is train station just across the street, so area is dirty, noisy and full of homeless, the hotel looks (because it’s probably is) OLD, rooms look more like those of old hospitals. NO A/C, very important. Windows had no screen, so if you wanted a little air, you had to deal with flies and bugs inside room. Hotel is in weird “U” shape so rooms faced each other, you could not only see but speak with people in other rooms. And for privacy you had weird “window shade” that (yes, gave you privacy, but also cut off air coming into the room). All in all, if you can spend $50-$75 extra per night, DO IT. If budget is essential then by all means go ahead. For me, the hotel didn’t ruined our Paris vacation, but it certainly didn’t allowed it to be memorable.
