Great stay. easy parking and checkin. Only downside is at the time I took a shower it seemed it ran out of hot water. Except that it was a good stay in mammoth lake.

I left a very sentimental personal piece of jewelry behind and they held it safely until I was able to return for it. Great people.

Shower took a while for temperature to stabilize (it started very hot) and cool down. Kitchen was excellent with plenty of room in freezer/fridge. With only 1 bathroom there could be a wait, but I had no issues. Staff was helpful. Great stay for the price.

A good shared accommodation. The place was kept clean. Free parking. I enjoyed staying here. Choose this place if you want to walk to almost every restaurant and shops . This hostel is very close to the Center of the village.

Great option for solo travelers. The place is very clean, and the kitchen is a nice bonus. The only thing missing is an extension cord. because there’s no outlet by the upper bunk

Excellent hostel. I would highly recommend the Moderne Hostel to anyone looking for a clean, affordable hostel. The bunk bed room and amenities I used were clean and maintained. The shower had hot water. They provided an extra blanket in the bedroom locker. I recommend bringing an additional extra blanket and warm socks just in case you tend to be cold and you want to sleep with the window open for ventilation, as the mountain air from an open window is cold at night.

I'm a long time Gold member and actually used this Hostel many times prior. After a 6 night stay and cleaning up after my stay I returned the keys to office at 10:08 AM on a 10 AM checkout. Manager warned about a late check out fee and that they didn't have my cell phone which was incorrect as I wrote it on my reg form. Not even any leeway and hassle over 8 minutes sure seems like harrassment when a simple reminder would suffice. Of note, I was not holding up any staff or cleaning access. Feels like some type of personal problem or judgment about me personally which is totally unsubstantiated. Maybe someone just was having a stressed out day. Then after all that she took the extra work time to reply to my comments on your Hotels.com message system to state I should have called about an 8 minute past the hour key drop off. Wow.
