One of the worst check-in experiences - we arrived to find the hotel closed for the night. We called the help number listed on the door, and the woman who answered (erroneously) told us to go to another building. That was also locked, so we called back and had to walk back to the original building. The bartender kindly let us in (thank goodness she was there!) where we found our key. But no map - we had NO idea where to go. We wandered around for a while and tried a door that matched our room number, but couldn't get in. We had to call a third time and found out we were in a different building. All this info was emailed to us around 9:40 (after our arrival!), then texted around 11:30pm (again, after our arrival!).
We couldn't get into our actual room because the key was crooked, it took nearly 10 minutes to get in. In speaking with housekeeping the next day, we discovered "that door never works." UGH, why not fix it?! The room was fine, though my advice to the hotel is to work on the standard items (maps and info for guests, working doors, a full-length mirror in your suites, and a light in the bathroom that's bright enough to apply makeup) before focusing on the extras (welcome bag).
