We had a free upgrade to a seaview room which was lovely (apart from the unfortunate seagull poo down the middle of the window - a hazard of being right on the seafront). The room was light and airy, nicely decorated and fairly modern compared with the little corridor which was in the middle of being worked on. Great views over the promenade, and it was pretty quiet compared to some seaside towns we've stayed in.
Breakfast was a bit disappointing. Cold buffet had plenty of cereals, juices, yoghurt and fruit, but no pastries. Hot food was via order. Full english - my teen wasn't impressed with the bacon, sausage or mushrooms. He had a slice of toast delivered with mould on but that was replaced with no issues. There were a lot of hot specials choices. My smashed avocado was ok - the poached eggs were perfectly cooked, but the toast was burnt. On other days we stuck with the american pancakes with berries and maple syrup which were delicious, and scrambled eggs on toast - tasty granary bread, and the eggs were really nice. Spot on for eggs of any type.
Staff were all friendly and helpful, and front reception desk service was always fast.
We paid for ultra fast broadband, but struggled to connect, then dropped out a lot. Speed test was only 4-5 mpbs. Don't bother paying for it, basic wifi was usable.
Shower was cold - couldn't get it to warm up. But thankfully 3rd morning was warm.
Lovely stay overall, and we'd stay again as the location was brilliant with free parking
