The Hampton Inn does not disappoint. Had deluxe King Suite. Which is super. You still get a pretty good breakfast in this post Covid era, where a lot of places give you a granola bar and a crappy muffin. The only downfall was a dirty bath towel was left on the back of the shower room door....not a biggie.
Comfort, cleanliness, super friendly staff
The room was very nice and clean. Beds were very firm which made them hard to sleep on. Customer service was wonderful! Kids enjoyed the pool while we relaxed in the hot tub. Overall pleased with our experience.
My husband and I stay at Hampton Inns along the way on our trips, because they are usually a reliable choice for cleanliness and good service. This one didn't quite meet up to our expectations. The staff was less than friendly and overall, it wasn't our typical Hampton experience. There are many others to choose from in Dickinson, so why not give them a try?
The building itself is fine. Most hotels in ND now have breakfast back, but this one said "continental" and it was marked several places at 6:30. I came down at 6 AM to load some things in the truck and could not find anybody at the desk. I called out, nothing but a sign saying they would be back. I called with my phone, no answer. I let it ring and ring, nobody came. I tried again 15 minutes later, rang and rang and rang. I knocked on every door that had anything to do with administration - nothing. By now, other people were around. There was no breakfast whatsoever. By now it was 6:40. I spotted a table with 6 bags that were the "continental Breakfast" for the 100+ guests. There were 5 of us, so I took 5. A bottle of water. A piece of old fruit and a small snack cake. I called at 6:50 as we hit the road. Finally, I called at 7:10 and the manager was there. I asked her if she knew that we could have taken every stick of furniture out the front door for the hour that no one was attending her hotel. She said that someone was sick.... Sick people can use a phone and people can come in rather than leave the hotel unattended. Unbelievably poorly run business for a large hotel. We will not be returning. I am in hotels 100-150 days a year. This is as bad as I have seen as far as having a hotel unattended.
It is so comfortable (beds, bathroom facilities, space, functionality) for our family.
Basic but had
Good: Hotel lobby and room was clean. Manger was very friendly. Bad: Took front desk clerk at least 5 minutes to come to wait on me when I know she was in the office. When she came to greet me she was less than happy to welcome me. The pool was cold.
Our room smelled like moldy must, requested a new room and they were not able to accommodate.
Our room was super clean, comfortable, and spacious! Our only complaint is that we couldn't see out of our window because it was located right behind the entrance canopy type thing and the hot tub was closed. The food was more continental style because of covid I'm assuming. Coffee was decent.
