On arrival, the guy on reception was great - funny and welcoming. He wished me a Happy Birthday and gave us lots of info.
The Deluxe Double is lovely decor, clean and fresh and facing the sea -whats not to like?! The room had a coffee machine and a little fridge with some great extras....although they might want to add a decaf coffee pod to the machine. I didn't use it as I can't cope with full caffeine and I think alot of people are the same these days.
The room was nice and dark but I couldn't sleep because the pillows were so lumpy. It was like sleeping on a sack of potatoes....so that was a downer.
Then, next morning, the breakfast service wasn't great either. They were really rushing us through the process and brought the cooked breakfast out when we'd only just started our cereal. I sent it back until we were ready but it was a bit dry upon return.
I offered feedback on the pillows on checkout to a woman called Sophie who genuinely couldn't have cared less. She just stared at me about the pillows with no comment and then just played the defensive card with every excuse under the sun. Do people not understand that if there was a bit of empathy I would have left it there but her attitude made the whole thing worse! Customer Service is an art form, but Llandudno Bay didn't cut it unfortunately. I've done that job myself and when customers feel listened to, it makes a big difference. So, none of the issues are massive but left a sour note. 2nd visit but possibly the last!
