The location is great. A few things to recognize: it is adjacent to Lazy Jack’s bar. A great place to hangout later into the night. Most places around close around 8 ro 9 pm. So there is late night bar noise. The second item is that there are communal showers and toilets. No private bathrooms This is not clear in the listing and why the rating is “medium”. The room was also small. It is clean, convenient, and the communal areas were kept very clean.

The room was clean and small. However, the rooms were clustered around a common courtyard. You could hear everyone coming and going. You could hear the shower being turned on in the next room. We couldnt sleep. We left after 2 days although we booked a 4 day trip. If you want to sleep- think twice about coming here. We were really unhappy with the set up. For 170 a night, we ecpected to at least be able to sleep through the night. The soap was pretty much water and it was a terrible experience all round. At that price find another place to go. Might be worth it if the prices were more of a hostel. But at 170 a night, we felt super ripped off. Also its a self service place and there was nobody after 5 to talk to about the noise. So youre pretty much stuck

In general it met my expectations, but there were a few aspects that I found disappointing. I booked as reserve now pay at property, to find out later that there is no front desk to check in at, and had to work out payment through an online portal before our stay. The room itself was cute and laid out well, but it wasn’t as clean as I feel it should’ve been. I found little dead bugs on the pillows, as if the room hadn’t been check on in a while. WiFi wasn’t strong enough to use. Great location for shopping and nearby activities.

A super helpful staff that picks up the phone and helps out for a self check in hotel. Booked day of, had to change reservation like 3 times, and they helped me through it all. Room was super easy to get into, directions were smooth and simple, and the area was perfect. Right next to one of the most active parts of town, and a 8 minute walk from the Bio Bay tours. Be aware, there's no microwave in the room. AC worked amazing. Showers hot water lasted well, just don't blast it.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make it to the hotel for my reservation and let the staff know in advance. I fully understand the cancellation policy, but I was hoping for at least a partial refund since I wouldn’t be using any of the three nights. I wasn’t offered anything—not even a small credit or gesture of goodwill. While I respect policies, a little flexibility or understanding in situations like this would’ve gone a long way and shown better customer care. But I do understand business is business. Otherwise the staff seemed friendly and very excited about Vieques.

This is a no frills, self check-in property. Communications through text messages were prompt and helpful. Should have a coffee brewer in the room or the premises since there is only one place for breakfast in the area which opens at 7am. A beverage and snacks vending machine would also be welcome, as well as an ice machine.

Average stay

The location is excellent, just off the main strip in Esperanza (its a small strip). Theres a lovely cafe for breakfast and coffee a minute away. Price is fine for the island. Its almost comical how noisy it is at night. Its a tiny island but you have the full range of city noises - restaurant, bar, cars passing w loud music, ppl chatting. It is v loud into the evening. For me, it wasnt a problem and they provide ear plugs but if you are light sleeper then think twice. Not sure if its the same mid week. The room and en suite are really homely, the floor couldve been cleaner. The room retains the cold from the AC, but blankets are provided. Its an air bnb not a hotel or guesthouse. Theres no reception desk, but instructions about access were all easy to follow. Service levels were adequate, if they made a bit more effort with hospitality, it may feel a bit less like an air bnb.

We only stayed one night to do a biobay tour and this was the perfect location. The bunk beds were fun and although i was hesitant at first about the shared bathrooms, it worked out totally fine. Rooms had a/c and we slept well! Communication with the host was via text and very helpful and convenient. Would definitely stay here again!

The weather was beautiful. Great location. Just be prepared to share bathrooms with no hand soap in any of them. And using the bathroom someone was on the roof with a leaf blower and blow water and leafs all over me when I was using the bathroom.

Waterside Inn esta en una excelente ubicación de Esperanza Vieques. Tiene todo lo necesario para pasar una buena estadia. Hay restaurantes cerca, esta ubicado frente al mar,la zona es muy segura tranquila tiene bares ,tiendas, food truck con buena comida al igual que los restaurantes. Ambiente familiar. El hotel tiene camas muy cómoda todo funciona bien. La dicha con agua caliente, aire acondicionado enfría muy bien. Fué mi primera vez visitando a Vieques ya quiero volver. Y volveria a quedarme en Waterside Inn.

Great value but main problem was mosquitos!

Great value overall but for such a tiny bunk room, I'm surprised with how many mosquitos were in there. Upon entering, we immediately noticed around 2 which after a bit of effort I was able to kill in a few minutes. But, the surprising thing is they kept coming back. It's almost like there's a hole somewhere that they were coming in from and there were perpetually 2 - 3 mosquitos in there. By the end of the first night I killed 6. Then the next morning I killed another 3. Luckily we had wearable head nets to better prevent mosquitos from biting us but I think I still had one bite on my ankle through the blanket. Maybe the doors can also be kept closed more during cleaning?
