I was very happy with my stay at Parker House. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The breakfast and wine social were a great opportunity to meet new people. The location is great and the room was comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here and will again in the future. I don't usually write a review, so that alone says a lot about my stay.

Free breakfast each morning was great! They also have a wine tasting at 5:30 pm. Staff were super friendly. Parking requires a reservation which wasn’t clear to us having booked through Expedia.

Parker House is warm and welcoming. We enjoyed talking to the other guests. Hot cider in the kitchen greeted us on our late arrival-- a lovely touch! Hope to return.

10/10 Exceptional

What a beautiful place! The room was large and spotless, and there were wonderful outdoor and indoor spaces to hang out in. All that, in a relatively quiet neighborhood with nearby cafes and a trolley that takes you directly downtown. (There is a large school across the street, so it may not be as quiet midweek when that's in session.) We will be returning!

I cannot recommend this hotel enough! Brian was excellent and really made the check-in process nice and easy. He also provided some great suggestions for places to eat and activities. The breakfast is wonderful and great quality food. This is a good option for folks who want to be in a less intense area of the city but still walkable distance to great areas for dinning and exploring. We will definitely be coming back!

The property is wonderful and the staff are amazing. The rooms with shared bathrooms are noisy because of the street cars. But the rest of the rooms are wonderful. This was our second stay here and it was like coming home.
Megan, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

We stayed at the Parker House a few years ago and had a very positive experience. We were happy to return and see the place is still airy, clean and friendly. There are not many nice places to stay in the area. The only downside is that we got a basement room, which was dark and a bit loud (could hear noise from lobby) but staff reassured us we will get an upstairs room next time.
Luz Maria, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Review.

Staff was more than happy to be helpful. The bouquet was beautiful although the hydrangea was wilted by the time we checked in. I thought the bed was too soft, but it was perfect for my wife. The garden was beautiful. Only complaint was the voices/noises seeming to come from beneath the closet or through the walls of room 26.
Mat, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The best staff. Feels like you’re staying in your friend’s comfy guest room. I would go back because of the staff who are excellent. The only issue is climate control and noise. No A/C or central heating so you have to open and close the windows to get the temperature comfortable and then the noise from the street gets to be a lot.
IAN, 5-night trip

6/10 Good

Unfortunately we received a room in the basement. Windows with no screens, hence unsafe to open them. Dirty carpet, room 19. Room cleaning is offered on request, but they did not specify this as check in time so our room was not cleaned. Hospitable staff, beautiful gardens, nice breakfast selection.

A Retreat in the Heart of San Francisco

My recent stay at the Parker Guest House was truly the highlight of my trip to San Francisco. Having just stayed there last week, I can confidently say this charming establishment is a genuine hidden gem, offering a warm, personalized experience that simply cannot be matched by standard hotels. From the moment I stepped inside, the atmosphere was instantly inviting. The historic Victorian architecture is beautifully maintained, blending classic elegance with modern comfort. My room, in particular, was spotlessly clean and served as a tranquil retreat after a long day of sightseeing. Waking up and having my morning coffee in the peaceful, lush garden courtyard felt like a little slice of heaven. The staff's hospitality is what truly sets Parker Guest House apart. They were incredibly welcoming and helpful, always ready with a smile and excellent recommendations for exploring the Castro and Mission districts. They made me feel less like a guest and more like a cherished friend visiting their home. The complimentary breakfast was a delightful start to each day—fresh, varied, and served in a lovely dining area. It provided a perfect opportunity to meet and chat with other travelers, enhancing the communal and friendly spirit of the house. If you are looking for a place that feels authentic, comfortable, and beautifully situated in one of San Francisco's best neighborhoods, look no further than the Parker Guest House. I wholeheartedly recommend it and absolutely plan on returning.

Really beautiful house, decorated for its style. Comfortable bed, friendly service, great location for exploring the city. Lots of small, ethnic restaurants nearby.
