Wife and I booked a 2-night stay for our first ever trip to San Luis Obispo.
Arriving by Amtrak, we walked the one mile through a mix of residential and commercial neighborhoods.
Our room wasn't available for early check-in so Jerry, Owner-Manager, held our luggage and delivered them to our room.
Our queen bed room was spacious and included a desk/chair and small table with 2 chairs.
We appreciated the original hard wood flooring, and the wood furniture. The TV and bathroom was on the small side. Towels were replaced daily to our pleasant surprise. The water pressure and hot water temp were decent.
The property is being renovated so there is a mix of old with new (like SLO). No frills though there's free parking.
It's an easy walk to the fun downtown area, and for those needing more steps, we also walked up to the Cal-Poly campus.
Given the high prices for SLO lodging, the Sunbeam offered an incredibly value.
The owner grew up in SLO, attended Cal-Poly, and had a corporate career before returning home to run the family business. It's a good feeling to support a locally owned business.
