This is a beautifully kept low key hotel, with great beds, close to everything, unpretentious. Will stay here again.
The place had old world charm. Very clean, great location and the staff was amazing and went above and beyond! We were late for our check-in (we didn’t realize reception closed at 5pm—which is very normal for Bucerias) so we didn’t show up to check in until around 6:15pm. When we arrived the girl at the front desk was waiting for us and was so kind. She stayed an extra 1 hour and 15 mins to make sure we got in our room! Also our stay was over Valentines Day and when we came down to the lobby the next morning the owner was working at the front desk and had dozens of roses he was handing out to the customers. Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere, they make you feel like family! Would definitely stay here again!
This hotel is located two short books from the beach in a nice residential neighborhood. That translated into significant savings over a beachfront property. It’s also a short walk (10 books or so) from the main beach strip with many restaurants. The room was spotless. My particular room had a balcony. There is no water view but the property has nice though small pool in a lush courtyard. The owners and staff were very nice and helpful with information. I’d stay here again.
We liked it very much but would have felt more comfortable with deadbolts on our room door.
We were in Bucerias to celebrate a friends birthday fiesta that was happening about 1.5 miles away. This place is a perfect little tropical oasis just 2 blocks from the beach. When we just wanted to get away for some quiet time we’d Time the sun at the little pool and bask. The property was spotless inside and out and the hosts were gracious, kind and helpful. Karen’s Place, Mark’s, Lupita’s, Sandrinas and many other fantastic restaurants within blocks of the front door. Loved it!
Great location just 2 blocks from the beach. I put on my swim suit and strolled to the beach. The owner was kind and gave me a ride back to the Puerto Vallarta area.
This seems to be a family-run Guest House. The husband from USA and the wife from Mexico were very nice. The room was very large and very clean with bonus living room are. I was there in September and everything was very quiet. I slept very well. Situated in the best neighborhood. There was problems with both the TV and wireless.
Pros: very close to the beach and there are many restaurants nearby so the location is great. Staff is very friendly and responsive. Air conditioner works well. Cons: The bed is hard. The mattress is firm and sits on top of a concrete "box spring". We requested and received a topper that made the bed more bearable. I like a firm bed but this bed was very hard and during the week we were there, we didn't get one good night. The management should invest in some foam mattress toppers.
The hotel is clean and the owner’s fiancée is gracious. She is warm and hospitable but could not overcome the owner’s complacent attitude. We originally booked this hotel with reluctance after finding out that our room did not have a balcony. We were assured that the room had an interior window and there was a community balcony available. As it turned out the rules changed upon arrival and the community balcony was not available after 9:00 pm and not before 9:00 am. When the owner informed us of the “new” rules he stated that the community balcony was just constructed and the rules had not yet been posted. The problem being that the community balcony opens onto another room’s balcony which could interfere with the other guest. As it turns out that was the issue! That particular guest was intimidating at best and the owner stated he “refused to take sides”. The owner then stated if we wanted to leave he would refund our money. We understand that particular guest is return visitor. That particular guest was acting as if he owned the hotel himself drinking beers with the owner at the front desk! We spent the next three days out of the hotel as much as we could. We could not use the community balcony for morning coffee and with only an interior window facing the hall the room was dark, dreary and the pool shaded. We finally secured a room at Refugio del Mar for the last two nights of our vacation. The owner was inhospitable and we cannot recommend this hotel in good faith!
