Hotel room not as described. In room amenities not as described. Room infested with cockroaches and hotel kitchen infested with rats. Had no choice but to stay the first night as vulnerable guests had already fallen asleep by the time i realised all of this. Checked out the next morning and claimed refund for unused nights. Hotel refused to refund first night saying Expedia takes commission so they lose money (that really should not be something hotel passes onto me). I had a completely sleepless night as i was trying to find alternative accomodation as such short notice and had to skip breakfast out of fear of potential health and hygiene hazards in the kitchen. Hote also posts fake reviews on review sites. I jave documented evidence of a staff member posting a 5 star review.

Great location on one of the few quieter streets in Thamel. Super friendly staff that will make you feel at home during your stay. My favorite feature was the rooftop, which one of the highest in Thamel, and great for soaking up the scenary of mountains and some glorious sunshine - also with it being the highest up there privacy is very well established too. Ruchana and Sanjay were phenomenal managers and will ensure you are comfortable and well settled.

A Positive Stay!

The overall experience I had at this hotel is very positive! I was first given an upgrade to a suite, which the room is very big, clean and comfortable! Their wifi is great and stable too! The breakfast was great with a great variety of selections. Most importantly, the staffs have all been friendly, helpful and very professional addressing my requests. They are also able to help you book customised tour trips around Kathmandu. I will highly recommend this hotel to others!

At arrival, one room was give (room 301) which was beyond expectation. Very dirty floor, dirty microwave, not functioning fridge, windows so filthy you could not see through them, balcony doors not falling on the locks, door handles stained with pigeon poo: just horrible. Went to the clerk at reception who mentioned there were no other rooms and displayed a very not-interested nasty attitude. When asked for a full refund, he called the manager and all of a sudden, another room was available. This was room 405. Went to inspect this room as same story as 301. Not acceptable at all. Finally room 306 was shown and and this appeared to be a little better. However, the floor and furniture were very dusty bathroom was now finally OK and acceptable: however the level of cleanliness was not. I ended up cleaning the floor and furniture myself and asked for a mop and cleaning detergent. Delivered was a very black dirty mob and no detergent at all. Guy..this is the level of the Avataar hotel. Breakfast on the top floor is a big joke. except for the view. Dirty stained cups and ended up with rash on my tongue. I took just one day breakfast only where I only drank the tea wit this result. Positive matter is the water pressure and warmth of the shower. ON the first day of breakfast I met the manager/owner? who wanted to have my opinion and would connect with me later on. I briefly shared my experience and never heard from him again. This hotel is a big rip off.

The hospitality and welcomeness was exceptional. The staff were very polite and friendly. The property is nicely situated in the midst of a bustling tourist-town Thamel, which made it easier to go around. The amenities provided were great as well. I recommend this place for future travelers!

Good hotel in Thamel area

Good budget hotel. Clean, safe, and friendly staff. Easy to get anywhere with plenty of taxi and buses nearby. area full of tourists and backpackers.no trouble at all.my only complaint is about breakfast.they should add more items. Apart from this I would recommend to anyone.
