We cannot say enough about The Sydney. The perfect place to stay when visiting Edgartown and Martha's Vineyard. From check in to check out, it couldn't have been any better. The property, the rooms, the staff were all 5-star. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom was well-appointed. We especially loved sitting around the firepit on a chilly October afternoon enjoying a glass of wine. The continental breakfast was lovely. Perfect location - everything was walkable. We did not have a car, so it was nice to be able to walk everywhere we went. We will definitely stay here again.

The Sydney is perfectly located in downtown Edgartown, but on a side street so it’s not noisy. The hotel is well decorated. The outside spaces are great. The breakfast is delicious. But the best part are the just-baked chocolate chip cookies that are put out at 3 pm!

We stayed one night- they were so accommodating in letting us check In early- although we did pay extra. The hotel’s location couldn’t be more convenient.

The Sydney was a very quaint and nice B&B, convenient to everything in Edgartown, walk to restaurants, stores, etc. The staff, in particular Angela and Alex were friendly and so helpful to us learning about the island, places to see, etc. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast as well and the afternoon chocolate chip cookies. :) I would definitely recommend the Sydney as a place to stay on Martha's Vineyard, especially if looking in Edgartown. Lovely inn, and lovely island to visit and explore.

The breakfast is billed as “continental,” but it includes hard-boiled eggs, prosciutto, cherry tomatoes and two kinds of cheese, as well as fruit, croissants and muffins. If, like me, you have to stay on business, fresh coffee is available around the clock. If, like me, you haven’t been to Martha’s Vineyard since the 1980s, staff is friendly and knowledgeable about where to go and how long it will take to get there.
