I really like the stay at Avalon Hotel. Great people, great swimming pool with a paronamic view area. The room was very nice and spacious. It has however potential for the renovation, but for the price was really nice and also very very clean!

We had a suite with an amazing view of Zante town & the Ionian Sea. Spacious room, good cleaning services. We liked walking into town in the am & browsing around. (15-20 min to get there)

Nice view and the place where the hotel is located is perfect to see the island. But you need a car or quad. It is to far to go to the city by foot. The breakfast is very standard. Not good but also not bad, fresh handmade coffee or fresh juice would be very positive.

I wasn’t overly impressed with this hotel. You get what you pay for. The photos and reviews definitely looked better than I expected. It’s fine if you’re just looking for a cheap place to sleep although the beds are pretty hard. Rooms can use updating. I was in a mountain view room which was actually a view of the parking lot.

Receptionist was unbelievably rude, spoke badly about us unaware that we understand her. Did not respect 'Do Not Disturb' signs. Services included in reservation (included dinners, breakfasts, welcome drinks, water bottles, etc) needed to be specifically asked for and at times disputed. If you can stay anywhere else, do. We stayed here during OFF/ SLOW season so there is no excuse for the lack of service/ cleanliness.

Beautiful view and that’s all.

This hotel is not a 4 stars.. We had the Suite Private Pool. The room was fine but there were lot of problems. The rain shower isn’t working good. The second TV in the sofa didn’t work. The lights in the pool didn’t work neither! We told to the reception but never had been repaired! We asked for a bottle of Prosecco in the room but they said no room service. For a four stars hotel this is so bad!!!

Secured a room on short notice after original plans fell through and was happy with our stay. The pool and its view were wonderful. Breakfast was great and staff were kind. Decor was a bit outdated and the hotel is up a hill - otherwise, all good.

Can’t beat the beautiful view of Zante town and the water!!! Staff very friendly and helpful! Quiet spot but convenient location to travel around island with a car. Bathrooms could use a renovation, mini fridge worked but door broken.

Ein Albtraum im Avalon Palace – Absolut nicht empfehlenswert! Wenn ich an meinen Aufenthalt im Avalon Palace in Zakynthos zurückdenke, bleibt mir nur die bittere Erkenntnis: Dieses Hotel hat mich enttäuscht. Die Aussicht war zwar atemberaubend und einige Mitarbeiter waren nett, aber das war auch schon das Positive. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt hier vorne und hinten nicht! Zuerst einmal die Hygiene – oder besser gesagt, das Fehlen derselben. Mein Zimmer war schmutzig, und es gab keine Putzfrau, die sich darum gekümmert hätte. Wenn ich an der Rezeption nachfragte, wurde ich nur mit Floskeln abgespeist, dass die Putzfrauen krank seien. In einem 4-Sterne-Hotel sollte das nicht vorkommen! Das Frühstücksbuffet war unappetitlich. Alles wirkte alt und geschmacklos, und der Kaffee? Ich bin mir sicher, dass dieser Automat noch nie eine Kaffeebohne gesehen hat – einfach nur schrecklich! Die gesamte Einrichtung war voller Rost, und die Hellhörigkeit des Hauses machte es unmöglich, eine ruhige Nacht zu verbringen. Man hört jedes Geräusch aus den Nachbarzimmern, als wären sie direkt im eigenen Zimmer. Besonders gefährlich waren die scharfen Kanten am Balkon. Ich habe mich beim Sitzen verletzt und hatte eine blutende Wunde an der Fußsohle. Das ist einfach nicht akzeptabel! Das Bett war unbequem, sodass wir in der Stadt Kissen kaufen mussten, um wenigstens einigermaßen schlafen zu können.

Very nice staff, but the hotel needs serious renovations. The bathroom is moldy and not descaled. All the water is from the sea and extremely salty. We used bottled water to wash off the salt after bath. The breakfast has a large variety but extremely poor quality and taste. I only had watermelons and bought coffee (espresso) from the bar.

Einfach Chaos

Klimaanlage hat nicht funktioniert, Schimmel im Zimmer, Badezimmer war nicht sauber. Auf den ersten Blick sah alles Top aus, da wir die Suite hatten mit eigenem Privat Pool. Jedoch war dort zu viel Chlor sodass die Klamotten kaputt gingen. Zimmer war in den Ecken dreckig. Es wurde uns gesagt, das zuvor ein kleinen Brand gab von Stromkasten. Strom hat funktioniert, da der Hotelbesitzer es selbst repariert hat. Dadurch hat die Klimaanlage nicht funktioniert. Die Zimmerkarte funktionierte ebenfalls nicht. Der Schlüssel (altmodische Art) der funktionierte einwandfrei. Ich war am Montag 2 mal bei der Rezeption und wollte den Manager sprechen. Die haben uns für die erste Nacht, einen alten Ventilator gegeben der halb kaputt war. Am Dienstag haben wir einen kompletten Tages-Tour gemacht. Dort wurde uns gesagt das der Elektriker kommen würde. Abends (19/20 Uhr) kamen wir zurück und dort kam keiner. Meine Frau und ich wollten uns fertig machen und sind in die Stadt gefahren. Nachts (22/23 Uhr) war der Chef dort und sagte uns, das wir ein Essen umsonst hätten. Ein Glück beherrsche ich die griechische Sprache und habe erstmal mit den Chef diskutiert, da ich frech finde sowas uns anzubieten, da wir ca. 900€ da gelassen haben. Nach langer Diskussion haben wir die Tages-Touren erstattet bekommen, jedoch finde ich sowas nicht fair gegenüber dem Verhältnis, was wir bezahlt haben.

I will never, never stay ever again at Avalon because of the dirty rooms, old rooms. The ants walked in the all room also in our bed. The fridge was covered in rust, the bathroom, the was mold, the airconditioning was dirty etc. I made pictures of it. I will publish them on facebook and LinkedIn. But the responsibility is on EXPEDIA. I paid a lot of money for it and Expedia, after 3 calls, said the the hotel is not agreeing with a refund! SCANDALOUS!!!

The view was spectacular! Rooms are small, especially if you are traveling with large bags. Staff in lobby were very friendly, the van driver that took us into town, not so much. He was rather abrasive. We were only here 1 night as a stopping point before we could check in to our not stop.

This hotel was a great value for the price. Good location close to Zakynthos old town, easy to get to via car, and a suitable buffet breakfast. The view is also incredible overlooking the bay and the town. Property is older but has charm. Would stay again!
