We checked in around 1700 and were given a key which did not work and the incorrect room type (inferior) to our booking. A housekeeper let us into our room, no questions asked, so I subsequently felt unsafe about the security of the property. When we entered, we noticed a large wasp fly out of the air conditioning unit. After chasing it around the room with a boot, we finally incapacitated it sufficiently to bring to the front desk and ask for a new room that did not have wasps buzzing in the air unit. She fixed our key, but did not give us a pest-free room or one that matched the rate I paid. I understand we were in a grassy area around the hotel, a bug usually wouldn’t be a problem, but massive wasps that come out of the air vent? A bit much. The amenities advertised were not accurate either, for instance, I found out the room lacked a hair dryer after I had washed my long, thick hair, and subsequently had to head to the airport dripping wet. Overall, one of the worst stays I have had in a while, both in terms of customer service and the property itself.
