The velux was broken so could not pull the blinds down, the mattresses were uncomfortable, people in the pub were smoking and it went all the way upstairs and could smell aywhere

Good check in. Good size room and ensuite. Had hoped to eat in first evening but kitchen already closed (8ish, maybe a bit earlier) Commented that TV in Bedroom not working (poor or no signal) said it would be to sort next day (Saturday) but when I got back Saturday evening no change. Disappointing. Live music Friday and Saturday night would be a no go for some, especially if your bedroom is directly above that part of the bar. The Brunel is well situated close to the Tamar bridge for travel (especially onward into Cornwall) my stay may have been different if midweek? Do your research

Stayed for 2 nights while attending an event. My room was dated, tired and in need of tlc. One of the brackets for the curtain pole was hanging out of the wall. I couldn’t get the tv to work so reported it but nothing was done to sort it. I couldn’t turn the shower on but happened to see a cleaner as I went out for the day and she showed me how. She said lots of people had the same problem - so why wasn’t there some guidance in the room? My room looked out over the main road with a pelican crossing just below. The windows were only single glazed so it was very noisy. Curtains were very thin so didn’t keep any of the street lights out

It was cheap to stay one night so should have known it was not going to be like hotels we have stayed in before. Pub stopped food orders at 7pm. After our 10 hour journey . Bathroom requires updating very tired , mould around shower screen. Toilet didn’t flush very well. Cold water in sink trickled. Beds were comfortable . Given a key to get out of a side entrance after a certain time and in the morning to leave. It was left on jar so anyone from street could have walked in. If you want someone to just rest your head, shower and move on great. Good beds, free parking .

Bed mattress thin and lumpy, could feel every spring. Wierd hot water, none in handbasin or shower, warm in bath. Hot taps all run for several minutes to try and get hot water. Both cooked breakfast and breakfast shown as available on website under Facilities / Dining, none available during stay. Apparently no breakfast provided for some months.

Pub was ok, room dirty,dirty bedding and towels. No staff to complain to only bar staff who weren't really interested. Left after a few hours instead of staying the 2 n8ghts we had booked

On arrival had to give credit card details in full rather than swipe as there had been drig users there before us and they had to remove needles most frightening experience wondered wheee I was staying. TV did not work and blind was poorly fitted. Towel had yellow slime on it and bed was very uncomfortable. . Bath had mold around the edge.

The room had no ventilation, the towels were too old and worn while the bar area stunk of urine. The staff were brilliant I couldn’t have asked for more. In the early hours of Friday morning around 2am, a domestic violence incident occurred in room 2 that frightened me hearing a woman screaming and doors being slammed and man in pursuit of her. This was a real moment of fright.

We had a lovely stay here, had a meal and drinks in the pub, fab atmosphere. staff are super helpful and friendly.
