We were unsure about this hotel being it was older, but once we arrived, we knew we were in for a great time. We were greeted by what seemed like the whole staff as we entered and the service and attention never ceased the entire trip. We had a wonderful time at Kinugawa Onsen. The traditional Japanese rooms were wonderful and the breakfast and dinner buffet were wonderful. We also enjoyed the public baths, karaoke rooms, and reflexology massage. The gift shop was also lovely stocked. The views of the mountains and river from the rooms and floors were wonderful. Highly recommend if you want some low key, nature retreat from your visit to Japan.

After 7 days of busy touring around Tokyo this was exactly what we needed! Being surrounded by the lush green hills was lovely. The accommodation was great, we opted for a Japanese style room and it was wonderful. While we were enjoying the fantastic buffet our room was transformed with futons. The food was amazing, something for every taste, my teen sons had a wonderful time trying many different dishes over our stay.

Reminder of good old buffet days!

Breakfast was nice! Not like the old days, but good. Dinner, ok, but prime rib needs consume gravy. Bit more flavor, but for buffet and organization, service, excellent. Still in great condition, at least in our tower on 8th floor. Onsen nice but water tepid outside, could be tad warmer inside.
