The property is in a nice location, however the service is really poor. Staff don’t seem to be trained as all in hospitality. Also, the buffet is terrible for lunch and dinner. The service in the other restaurants is really slow. The review here echos the experience of many others and surprised that Hyatt are not addressing it. I also messaged their concierge service about this and the response I got was since you booked through Expedia, please contact them. So looks like they are just ignoring the fact that their brand is being affected.

The check-in process took three hours, and unfortunately, our bags were delivered to the wrong room. Securing dinner reservations at one of the "exclusive" restaurants proved to be quite challenging. The buffet offerings for both dinner and breakfast were disappointingly cold and lacked flavor. In the evening, it was difficult to order a drink as the bar backs did not take orders only the waiters did. The accommodations were clean, and the pictures accurately represented their appearance.

If you’re reading reviews on this property, than you are the type of traveler that I am. You do thorough research: comparing hotels, poring through sites’ pictures & amenities, factoring in location, expense & time…..all to ensure a rewarding vacation. While every person may have different tastes and likes, as an all inclusive resort, Dreams Madeira Resort, Spa & Marina, a luxury Hyatt collection hotel stands near the top. No need to read any further. Choose Dreams Madeira and then go get spoiled! Like myself, you’ll be patting yourself on the back, during and after your stay, for an excellent selection.

Mostly amazing

We were satisfied! We tried every restaurant except Sabor. Nouvelle Brasserie and Carvaja were our favorites. Great service from the staff, they were very helpful - special shout out to Carolina from the Guest Experience desk. The spa was amazing with an amazing view. A plus is that the resort is very close to one of the hiking trails. Improvements? The drinks at the bars were a mixed bag. Ordered Granita one day and it was like a slush, the other day the bartender just put some ice cubes in and mixed it with juices and stirred. That's not a Granita! One bar served an amazing frozen fruity Daqiuri (The Desire) but the same bar mentioned above just put the drink and some ice in the mixer for five seconds and then served it? Wildly inconsistent tastes of some drinks we tried more than once, for example the Madeira Colada could be either the best drink at the resort or a measly meh. The juices at the breakfast were also very bad. The resort should do something about guests hogging sunbeds for hours, just leaving some stuff there and not being present. One company seemingly had sun beds claimed over the night even. Overall, we were satisfied.

This all-inclusive resort had the best drinks and restaurant (not the buffet) quality I have experienced out of the 11 different all-inclusive resorts I have been to. However, the buffet was below average quality and made worse by being in a tight space for the number of guests they had. The staff were largely inexperienced, or lazy, and supervisors were working too much to be effective supervisors. The hotel itself is awesome with a village setting in a very picturesque location. My overall experience is good, but could easily been exceptional with better management of the staff and buffet.

This 5 star resort is beautiful! Well kept. Rooms are amazing and very clean. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Their World Café International buffet restaurant had a great selection of food and lots of fresh local fruits! Service is amazing with cooked to order omelette station and cooked to order meats and fish to grill in front of you. The Cocoa Cafe is where you can order drinks and coffee drinks until 10pm. They also served sandwiches and tasty baked foods. The service here was superb! However, their a la carte restaurants need a lot of improvement. First of all, all their a la carte restaurants (except for the Você Beach bar and their sports bar restaurant) need reservation. Reservations are difficult to book through their online system. A la carte restaurants were disappointing and food & service was subpar. Seating areas by the bars and the pools were limited. It was a beautiful resort but didn't offer 5 star service overall. I would not go back or recommend this place. Not worth the money.

Absolutely the best All-Inclusive resort in Madeira. Dreams is a recently re-branded hotel resort complex covering a vast area from the beach all the up through a mini village. With a variety of rooms, and services on offer including restaurants, cafes and pools. Staff are incredible, always happy to help and seem very happy to work there with the exception of the World Cafe. We noticed over a period of the 3 nights we were staying there that there was a little battle going on with the local Madeiran staff and non local staff which to be honest is ugly and unacceptable. This happened to one of the cooks on station, he was shouted at by another cook which wasn't very nice. We also noticed this was done in front of guests which isn't very professional and we tried raising this with reception however, we were told to make any complaints through their website!! I informed the receptionist it wasn't a complaint but an observation but was ignored. Moving on, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and everything except the world cafe staff was just as expected from a Hyatt brand. I understand the hotel is opening in phases but would suggest more entertainment in the evening. Food was exceptional Staff were professional (mostly) Facilities that were open were great Getting around, very easy Internet, very fast Using the App to reserve restaurants, activities, great idea Free minibar in the room

Wunderbares Resort mit Raum für Verbesserungen (Personal & Sauberkeit) Das Resort an sich ist wunderschön und bietet eine hervorragende Basis für einen gelungenen Urlaub. Zimmer: Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und gut ausgestattet, was den Aufenthalt sehr angenehm macht. Verpflegung: Die Auswahl an Speisen ist sehr reichhaltig und abwechslungsreich. Leider gibt es zwei zentrale Punkte, die das Erlebnis deutlich trüben: Personalmangel & Service in den Restaurants: Das Resort leidet spürbar unter Personalmangel, insbesondere in den Restaurants. Die Wartezeiten waren teilweise unerträglich und zeugen von einer dringenden Notwendigkeit, sowohl mehr Personal einzustellen als auch dieses besser zu schulen. Mangelnde Sauberkeit (Badezimmer): Die Anwesenheit von Ameisen im Badezimmer war sehr unangenehm und sollte in einem Resort dieser Klasse nicht vorkommen. Dies deutet auf Probleme bei der Schädlingsbekämpfung. Fazit: Ein Resort mit großem Potenzial, das dringend in seinen Servicebereich investieren und die Hygiene-Standards im Badezimmerbereich überprüfen muss.

Really lovely stay at this hotel

The set up and architecture of the village is great. Staff in sports bar, cocktail bar, Oishii, entertainment and spa were great. The coffee in the coffee bar was fab and the staff there were lovely. There was always a sunbed which was good. Food in Oishii and Beach bar was particularly good. Having to book your restaurant at 8am the day of eating is a pain. Thankfully I'm a morning person so not such a big issue but it meant you had to sit with your finger ready at 8am or there'd be nothing available. I only found this out from other reviews not from reception. Food in world Cafe always only like warm, even if you were the first there! Reception service was very hit and miss. We weren't told on arrival that our bracelet opened our door, only found out when we went to get a second key card. Waited about 15 mins at reception while someone went through the whole app with someone checking in, finally a lady (skipped me and attended a woman behind me first) came over and asked if she could help. She was the one told us we didn't need a card to open the door. I asked for a robe and she said no problem and put it into her phone, I never got a robe. The day of checking out I asked for a packed breakfast as our flight was at 6:30. I was told this was no problem so we were put down for 2 packs, again I watched her put it into the computer. The next morning when we went to get it there was no record of it and no packs. I was really annoyed as I'd left nuts and small snacks behind.

L’infraction de l’hôtel est incroyable, un petit village calme avec tout ce dont nous avions besoin. Chambre très confortable et grande, propre et bien équipée. Néanmoins le service de table n’était pas à la hauteur et les repas au buffet trop répétitif pas de fantaisie, 3 jours ont suffi pour en avoir marre de manger la même chose à chaque repas. On a testé le restaurant gril à la carte, moyen… la viande pas de qualité et service pas mieux.

We were disappointed with our stay at this resort. While the staff were friendly and kind, there simply weren’t enough of them to deliver the level of service expected from a five-star property. The buffet food was consistently lukewarm and lacked quality. Accessing the à la carte restaurants was nearly impossible, as reservations were always booked. We did experience an issue with our room, which was eventually resolved, and the Wi-Fi was spotty throughout our stay. We had upgraded to the Preferred Club, but in our opinion, it wasn’t worth the additional cost. Aside from a separate lounge with self-serve drinks and snacks and a private check-in area, we didn’t notice any real added benefits—especially since the regular check-in wasn’t busy when we arrived. On a positive note, the resort itself is beautiful. The rooms were stunning, and the surrounding grounds were truly picturesque. That said, for the price point, we expected a much higher standard of service and overall experience. There’s definitely room for improvement.

Repetiremos para ver como progresan

Buena experiencia en general. Repetiremos seguro, ya que al ser un complejo tan grande no lo hemos visto al completo. He pedido una habitación cerca de todo lo principal ya que mi madre tiene problemas de movilidad y nos han asignado una habitación en la parte baja del complejo (por tanto ha tocado subir escaleras para llegar al edificio principal o llamar a un tuktuk de los que tienen dentro del complejo para desplazarse). La comida del buffet aceptable, la comida de los restaurantes bastante mejor (importante estar rápido para pedir reserva en los restaurantes, a las 23:55 ya dentro de la app, si no te toca cenar en el buffet). Muy recomendado el restaurante de sushi en su versión de espectáculo, un chef que cocina delante de ti). Aún es su primer año de vida, esperemos que siga mejorando. Deberían de añadir una zona de bar en la piscina de solo adultos, ya que solo ofrecen refrescos y cerveza, nada de comer (para eso te tienes que desplazar al edificio principal). Ojo como no vayas por la mañana a por toallas de piscina, que como vayas por la tarde te quedas sin ellas. Se puede aparcar dentro del recinto, pero extraoficialmente. La zona baja (puerto y playa) es la más bonita del complejo. Los empleados muy atentos y cordiales.

Kamer zeer ruim met alles wat je nodig hebt. Eten smaakte heel goed; veel variatie in buffetten (ook fruits de merbuffet buiten) en de restaurants boden al een even grote keuze (sushi, pasta, bbq,…) De koffieshop was een leuke plaats om te vertoeven. Toch vertoont het hotel heel veel kinderziektes; de properheid (buiten) kan beter, er zijn te weinig ligbedden aan de zwembaden (ze laten toe om ‘s ochtends al met je handdoek deze te reserveren ook al gebruik je deze niet), als er kinderen in adults onlypool spelen wordt er niet op gereageerd, de app om restaurants te boeken werkt ook niet zo vlot,…
