This hotel is closed for some time. We did not got notice of that fact. So we arrived -after a confirmed reservation - at closed doors. We had to find us another hotel on the instant. I want my money back!

There was no breakfast or bar as they stated it was being refurbed. Though midweek no one was in there and they had definitely not even started. No contact number was given, could not get into the hotel, a guest outside contacted the person to let us in. The place was more like a hostel or HMO. Think was used by asylum seekers to. Plaster off the walls and smelt. Lights not working in the corridor to our room. The window sash broken, the windows has to be propped up by wood. Windows rotting. Shower and toilet room was awful. Sink was propped up on wood. Only good thing it did have heat but no pressure. Carpet fraying and not cleaned round edges. Mold in cupboard so I just left suitcase on top of moldy bedding and used it from there. Base of bed was marked terribly. One positive was the TV, had neflix etc. Also a microwave in room. Gave me extra milk when asked but it had gone off!!!! Did supply a fan as was so hot. Only there 3 nights thank god, never again. I did take a video but there is no where to download it on here.

Absolutely awful, the guy emailed me at 10.40pm the day before I'm due to check-in to tell me he needs to cancel my booking due to an issue with my room. Fair enough I thought, inconvenient but it happens, except I had a mate staying in the same place, he had to move rooms, again a problem with his room too, after some digging, man on site scenerio and reading others experiences it turns out there was a water leak weeks before I was due to stay so why cancel my booking so late and by email knowing full well he didn't have a room for me, and being soo late in the evening last minute bookings cost twice as much so it's a lose lose situation. To add insult to injury he then processed my payment, taking the full amount even though he knew he had cancelled my booking and I never checked in! Absolutely ridiculous, trying to steal my money. My advice would be to steer clear, there are many other hotels in the area some are actually cheaper.

It's pretty rundown, reception area was locked, the person didn't introduce themselves just wanted to see my ID, smelt of dog, residence live on site, some had dogs (barking in the early hours), no access to bar or food at the hotel as they were closed for refurbishment. The room wasn't too bad just a old/rundown ceiling looked to be leaking water. However, bedding seemed fresh & shower worked. Parking was quite tight as it's not big & some had decided to park inconsiderately

The front door was locked. There was a note stuck to the door stating ‘restaurant and kitchen closed due to refurbishment and query’. The owner was walking around the back of the building. There was absolutely no indication that he was the hotel owner. He handed us a key to a room at the back, upstairs in the building. The corridors smelled musty and stuffy; the light in the corridor was broken, so we could barely open the door. The building was neglected both inside and out. There were no other guests, and the reception was closed. We were able to sleep in that very small room. Separate beds were not available. This did not match the information on the website at all.

Rooms spacious and clean. No Air Conditioning but outside night temp 70 degrees. Had windows to open. Good value for price. 15 minute drive to port to catch cruise ship. Would definitely book again if in area.

Good service, but sadly let down by the accommodat

The room was super hot even with all the wondows open. The hotel needs a lot of tlc. The plumbing was really noisy, the decor was old and worn, and thd bed was so hard and uncomfortable.

Der Zustand des Hotels ist gelinde gesagt katastrophal. Schmutzige Decken auf den Tischen, Spinnweben in den Ecken, die Jalousien mehr defekt als in Ordnung und die Zimmerdecke im Bad hat Risse, die gefährlich aussehen. Die junge Dame am Check in war zwar freundlich, wirkte aber hilflos. Deswegen und weil wir auf die Schnelle keine Alternative hatten, haben wir die Nacht trotzdem über uns ergehen lassen. Immerhin, das Bett war groß, sauber und bequem. Allerdings fehlte das gebuchte dritte Bett. Das wurde zwar durch eine Liege ersetzt, die aber so quitschte, dass wir die Matratze auf den Boden gelegt haben. Die Fenster waren undicht, so dass man jedes Geräusch wahrgenommen hat. Außerdem gab's in ständiges Brummen im Haus, was die Nachtruhe ebenfalls extrem gestört hat. Alles in allem eine Katastrophe. Eine Beschwerde (mit Bildern) über den Expedia-Kundenservice wird folgen mit der dringenden Empfehlung, das Hotel nicht mehr zu vermitteln.

Needs attention

The hotel is easy to find and has a decent sized car park at the rear of the building. The outside looks tatty and the adverts/awards in the windows are all dated. We checked in with no problems and the guy was very helpful although he wasn't based on site and closed reception as soon as we had our keys. This was unfortunate as once we got to the room we realised we didn't have the wifi code. The hotel number was permanently engaged and there was no sign of anyone on the ground floor. The room was clean, reasonably modern, spacious and had a desk for working. There was no internal lock or bolt on the door which was frustrating and there was also no pole to adjust the venetian blinds to close them, which meant we had daylight in the room at 4AM. On the plus side, we were on the second floor so could leave the windows open to get some cool night air in. Overall, a mixed stay at a reasonable price.

Used the hotel as a night stop before an early ferry. It served thus purpose well was clean fidy with an easy check in helpful manager / owner. The hotel is a little dated but tidy and great for our 1 night stay only 15 minutes from either the ferry or eurotunnel.

A quiet and clean hotel where guests are made very welcome. Locstion is nice and close to the city center. I understand that the hotel is taken over by another owner not too long ago, so there is some work to do to make it even nicer. I hope to return here in the future.

I was met by Raj the very pleasant owner/manager and he was very attentive. My room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was excellent and cooked to order. Would definetly stay again.

Disappointed

Comfort good enough, friendliness good enough but service at mealtimes leaves a lot to be desired. Had a dinner with our family which, despite us being the only ones there, took a long time ! Waiting 45-60 mins for meal to arrive is not acceptable. Breakfast next day was the same (and we never did get our cereal) Staffing levels need to be looked at.

Good nights stay

Positives : lovely features , good size room , comfortable bed , nice table for working , comfortable arm chairs . Parking available. Negatives : not that we’re fat but a little tight getting into the shower. Some of the finishing / decorating in bathroom and crack repair in bedroom could be a lot neater . Very warm night and fan appreciated but a little squeaky !! We also struggled with door but think there’s a knack to it .
