Hotel had an elevated feel as soon as you walk in. Room was nice, bathroom was very nice. Bed was very comfortable. I believe it was some sort of memory foam because I just sunk in ( in a good way).

The room and facilities were very clean and pretty. The amenities were excellent and comfortable. This was our second time to stay at this hotel and we will return. Be aware that there is no on-site personnel to greet you – you must make a phone call to access the pin number so you can enter your room. A suggestion: switches on the bedside lamp and ceiling fan were broken and need to be fixed.

My husband is very picky. He couldn’t stop talking about how impressed he was with the hotel. He loved how clean it was and how beautiful the room was. I was very happy with the comfy pillows. My husband wants to go back and stay in that same room again.

No staff on site, three flights of stairs to get to the rooms (no elevator), no fridge in the room, only a shared fridge in the hall with no freezer section. It's not very well insulated (you can hear noise from other rooms and the road). No amenities or opportunity to get breakfast, so it is not really a hotel in my opinion. That being said, the rooms are very clean, the shower spacious and works well and the building is well maintained. Location is good because all of the local attractions are in walking distance.

An outstanding, beautiful, and clean room with very easy check in and out. Plenty of parking and a nice outdoor patio. It’s connected to a coffee shop for breakfast and is just steps away from high street. Would recommend!

Very unique hotel in a great little town. Small town charm with several shops and restaurants around. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars was the road noise. Not horrible, but just enough to be a bit annoying. Otherwise we loved it! Comfortable bed, good coffee, nice shower

I highly recommend this charming, historic and elegant hotel in San Saba. I enjoyed maximum privacy yet prompt answers to any questions. The location is outstanding in the historic downtown, parking availability and convenience was excellent, and dining recommendations warrant praise. I would definitely choose this hotel again.

Spotless facility and beautiful room. I travel a lot for work and am always looking for unique stays. I cannot wait to get back here. The sheets felt like luxury and I just melted into the bed. I loved the spaciousness of the whole suite. The road nose was still a bit loud until maybe 10pm, but this is a restored old building in a downtown intersection so it was to be expected. I plugged in the ear plugs provided on the nightstand and easily drifted to sleep.

Truly incredible historical building, thoughtfully updated and decorated. Basic amenities are provided plus fresh drinking water and ice, a spotless shared fridge, wine opener, Keurig coffee (but def check out Oliver Coffee downstairs, so easy and delicious!) The location is in the center of town, walkable to any San Saba landmark you'd like to see, including downtown shopping and dining, and the more pastoral Mill Pond Park and the River Nature Park. Because it is right on the main drag, there is a bit of road noise but that comes with the territory. Just bring ear plugs or white noise and you're good!

The Dofflemyer is still a cute, quaint hotel that seems to be mostly well maintained. This is our second stay a few years apart, and our room was cleaner the first time we visted in comparison to this last time. The towels were not clean and our room light did not work and so we had trouble getting ready for the day without light. The room appeared clean but in reality it wasnt when you go to make coffee and the old pod is left in there, and toilet seat was dirty. Also, almost all stores are closed on Sundays and close early on Saturday, so there isnt much to do. Hopefully the hotel can brush up on their cleaniliness and the town can grow beyond 2 eateries, 1 coffee shop and a tiny winery. We value the small, quiet town atmosphere, but it may be too quiet for people trying to enjoy a weekend of shopping and dining.
