While the hotel is beautifully redesigned and the decor is great, only two drawbacks for why I didn’t rate it 5-stars. Otherwise I would have rated it 5-stars. The valet situation is a nightmare tbh and it is required (which is fine) but if required and charged $30/day, it should function somewhat smoothly and efficiently. Every time we pulled our car or dropped it off, it was like a three-ring circus with a minimum wait of at least 20 minutes, even when not busy. It was as if the valet guys had no clue what they were doing, were just hired yesterday and most did not care. The second reason I rated it 4 instead of 5, pertains to the toilet paper. Yes, petty but it was 1-ply and horrible!!! Nice linens, nice towels, nice shampoo, etc., and toilet paper so thin it was somewhat translucent. Otherwise the hotel stay was great! We also had dinner at The Vandy and it was phenomenal! The hostess seemed lost or verbally medicated as we asked her a simple question about switching tables and she literally went silent for over 30 seconds just staring off into space saying “um” repeatedly, I had to ask if she needed to ask anyone else to get an answer while we awkwardly stood there waiting for the most basic of questions to be answered. However, the food, again, was fantastic! I had the beef wellington - 5 stars one of the best I’ve ever had! The rest of the table loved their food as well, fried chicken 5*s, salmon 5*s, filet medallions 5*s, and the French onion soup 5*s, loved it!
