The hostel is in a very convenient location. There's a massive grocery store a tiny walk away, an S-Bahn station an even shorter walk away where you can hop one stop to Hamburg HBF.
I was positively surprised at how modern and clean everything was at the hostel from the moment I stepped in. The layout of the hostel is a bit confusing, and some elevators couldn't go down to ground floor for some reason.
Unfortunately I was made to feel a bit dumb for not knowing if I wanted to check in at the desk or myself. One of the employees tried to tell me how annoying it is to check in at the desk or something, and I told him I'd never stayed at a hotel or hostel before so I didn't know what to do, which is why I came up to the desk. Luckily the employee next to him stepped up and helped me through the process and he was great. Rented a towel as I was travelling light, very reasonable price.
In the room my main issue was that there are individual lights and usb outlets for each bed but mine weren't working. Before checking out I noticed the issue was as simple as my bed not being plugged into the wall for some reason?
Otherwise the room was great, toilet was really spacious and clean, shower was a bit tight but my shoulders are wider than average, so that has something to do with it. The pillow is nice and big, the blanket is good too. Bedframe could be less squeaky and mattress a bit thicker but minor complaints, really. Lots of little stools to sit on when not in bed.
