Overall, my stay at Sparks by Hilton was good. The location was convenient, and the front desk staff were pleasant and helpful throughout my stay.
I traveled from Georgia to Texas after purchasing a home in Forney and stayed from March 30th to April 2nd. My experience took a turn on my last day due to a billing issue that caused unnecessary stress.
My flight was changed from an early morning departure to later that evening, so I requested a late checkout. I was advised to speak with the manager at 7 AM. When I did, she informed me the late checkout fee would be $50. I explained that I had already paid a $25 incidental deposit and asked if I would only need to pay the remaining balance. She confirmed yes.
However, I noticed my card was charged immediately while the $25 deposit was still pending. Before leaving the desk, I locked my debit card. As I was walking away, I received another attempted charge of $31 and some change, which raised concern.
I returned to the desk for clarification, but I did not receive a clear explanation. Due to the uncertainty, I contacted my bank and canceled my card to protect myself.
Clear and accurate billing is very important, especially when traveling, and I hope management reviews this process to improve transparency and prevent similar situations for future guests. This situation left me feeling uneasy and concerned about the handling of my payment information. I would appreciate clarity and proper resolution regarding these charges. Thxs
