The Mustard Hostel is in a wonderful location at the heart of Dijon. The hostel itself is amazing - it’s really clean, well kept, and very comfortable. If you need to work on your laptop, the area just off the reception is a great place to work. It has receptacles and ample seating and tables. And it’s also quiet enough during the day to work.
The city of Dijon is absolutely delightful and charming. The old town area is mostly pedestrian walking with very few cars, so it’s a wonderful place to relax and take the city in. The Musée de Beaux Arts in the old Duke Palace is a must-see in Dijon.
You also have to try the mustard because this is where Dijon mustard originates. There is a mustard shop called Maille Moutarde on Rue de la Liberté (the main street in the old city) that has several types of mustard that you can taste. I highly recommend this even if you go for just the tasting. The tastings are free and ongoing throughout the day, so you can go when they’re open. I found the original mustard to be the best tasting, and I also bought nut and honey mustard.
