The Helaina was perfect for our stop over in Scarborough. We were warmly welcomed by Jill and shown the cosy sitting room and honesty bar. Our room and bathroom were beautifully clean and the bed was very comfortable. We took advantage of the restaurant recommendations and booked in for breakfast which was good quality and set us up for our day of walking. We would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

This hotel was a perfect fit. Great location for walking to both bays. Our “cosy” room was indeed cosy - but very well equipped with tea & coffee and bathroom supplies. Everything looked very well cared for. Our host was very welcoming. We chose to go out for breakfast so can’t comment on the food.

Our room overlooked the sea and the views were terrific. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the decor and furnishings were high quality. The breakfast was tasty and very fresh. The staff were attentive and friendly. A great place to stay.

We had a brilliant time and the staff were wonderful! Very well maintained hotel, excellent breakfast, and a wonderful view. The staff gave us some local tips, and sorted out our parking permit. Less than a ten minute walk from the town centre and castle, so we'll be staying here again!

Beautiful but compact room.We stayed in the small double as it was the only one left available when we booked, but perfect for a nights stay. The room had everything you would need and more including dressing gowns and a fan for warmer nights The breakfast was one of the best that we've had in a long time. The scrambled egg and smoked salmon was exceptional. We will definitely be back but would look at a Seaview room and a few more nights.
