Check-in was very delayed due to limited cleaning staff. The front desk staff was overwhelmed and apologetic. The hotel was at capacity due to multiple sports tournaments in the State College area. The room set up was convenient for a family and the hotel itself is new. Throughout the hotel there were overflowing trash cans, lobby bathrooms were clogged and never had the trash removed or paper towels replaced. It was clear that the hotel was understaffed in terms of maintenance and upkeep. During our stay, we encountered a very rude front desk attendant. She refused to offer us a late check-out (even though the check-in was two hours delayed). She came out to yell at our group while we were eating in the lobby and continued to be rude to other customers. The following morning, the new front desk attendant offered us a late check-out. Our daughter and her entire team used the pool. Upon our arrival home, our daughter had red sores on her feet and her eyes were swollen. Within the following 24 hours, her entire body was covered in the red bumps. The entire team that stayed in the hotel and used the pool was covered in the rash. They were diagnosed with folliculitis (staph) from the pool. This hotel has a great location and the room set up is family friendly. Unfortunately, they need more staff and better upkeep.
