Bianca Guest House on Palatine Road delivers the authentic, nostalgic feel that Blackpool is famous for. We stayed in a great little room, and it was lovely to experience a traditional, family-run B&B. The hosts are genuinely welcoming—we loved seeing the chap outside treating his outdoor furniture, and the owner's framed Disney jigsaws were fantastic and truly Disney museum-quality pieces!
The central heating was a little lacking during our stay, but the hosts kindly accommodated us by providing a portable room heater. We were especially grateful for it on the night of the storm after having to walk back from Pleasure Beach when the trams stopped running, as it helped us dry off our soaked clothes from both the storm and our visit to The Sandcastle.
The host was very accommodating at breakfast, replacing the standard sausage with a vegetarian option and making a poached egg instead of fried. However, the breakfast quality could easily be elevated with a few small upgrades. Serving sausages with a higher meat content would make a noticeable difference in quality, which is why I opted for the vegetarian option instead. Offering wholemeal or granary bread—which keeps easily in the freezer—would give guests a great alternative to standard white toast. Adding cereal and allowing guests to have both juice and coffee rather than having to choose either one or the other would also keep breakfast from feeling repetitive over a multi-night stay.Overall, a charmingl boarding house.
