10/10 Exceptional

I have been staying here for years. I like it and the location is perfect.

10/10 Exceptional

Friendly staff
I took a bus to a nearby location, then walked the rest of the way with luggage. The bus had to stop and let everyone off before its scheduled stop, so the walk was longer than anticipated. Hard to do on cobblestones but I finally arrived.

Our biggest issue was the bed. Very uncomfortable and hard. Also we could of used more blankets.

Staff was excellent. Hotel very clean. Unfortunately property look is very old and have no minibar or air conditioner. Centralized AC/Heater just switch by weather station .

In a wonderful area! We loved staying there, staff was super friendly and helpful. Room was smaller than we expected and the Walls are thin and it can get very noisy as people are coming in and out. Overall it was perfect!

Great little hotel tucked away in gothic area of Barcelona. Easy walking around. Only complaint is pricey

Expected more - but it was adequate
The hotel seemed good value for the central location and time of year. The area however is a hot bed for the unfortunate homeless of Barcelona so the area is heavy with people eating from the trash, rough sleepers, people trying to sell u cans of beer or drugs on every corner. The hotel is kinda cute, the bathroom was big and clean. The beds were adequate in comfort but not amazing. The real downside for me was the window situation. It was like a prison cell. The room didn't have any natural light because the window cracks open to a wall/pillar that entirely blocks the view/air and light. This made the room look dingey and miserable. I wanted to spend as little time as possible in there. Its room 403 so if you have the misfortune of gwtting allocated this room i recommend you protest! There was also no kettle or tea making facilities nor a fridge which i eould expect for a hotel of this price. The hotel is also not at all soundproofed so i was woken a lot of times by doors being slammed or people talking in the hallways. I think it was cleaning staff as it was the same voice at the same time, loud and inconsiderate. I wouldn't stay here again but it was ok.

4/10 Fair

The room is very small, you can't turn around. There is a very strong, bad, rotten smell in the room, which did not go away. The safe in the closet is simply glued to the shelf, and we were afraid to leave anything there. The tap in the shower stall was constantly leaking, and there was a weak water pressure. The shower stall is very small. The flush in the toilet had to be pressed several times to stop leaking and start filling with water. Over all, stuff need to maintenance property well. Center Barcelona- Good. Many small shops around - Good.

2/10 Poor

Not worth the high price at all
From the hotel writing me many, many messages requesting payment, instead of hotels.com to the worst hotel stay in 30+ Years of travel. No window, unable to control temperature, extremely thin walls with elevator noise all night, yelling, screaming, people having sex to a toilet that ran continuously, hard bed, two wimpy pillows, one small bath towel, a hair dryer held together with tape not to mention the odor poorly masked by a strong powdery scent that cause of throat irritation.
Deanna, 3-night trip

4/10 Fair

The rooms smell like they are fumigated (although speaking to locals it may be used in plumbing to counter sewage smells). It is a very strong/pronounced chemical smell. The units do not have local AC units, my room was hotter at night than external/ambient temp.. 21.5-22C vs high teens outside. I tried 2 rooms.
Joshua, 5-night trip

2/10 Poor

Avoid, pictures seem nice ut is old and smells like drain through the night. Expensive for the type of hotel. Not recommended, not even if you are a bagpacker.

10/10 Exceptional

The property is in a GREAT location in the Gothic Quarter. It is tucked away in a quiet, out-of-the-way side street. Quite romantic and atmospheric. SAFE. About a five-minute walk from the boulevard known as Las Ramblas. And about a five-minute walk from the Placa Reil. I am going to book there again. Believe me. I am.

Solo travelker
Hotel very clean. But make sure your room if a solo traveller is not next to the lift. Definitely a no no if you are a light sleeper people coming in until 5 am and starting to leave at 6.30am. But staff very pleasant. Would definitely stay again but not in a room next to the lift
