I took a chance on the Western Inn as the brand name hotel next door where I’ve stayed before was $80 more for the night. The Western is basic and economical, but clean, quiet, and comfortable. Staff on check-in and out were friendly and efficient.
Our room with one queen bed was small, clean, and had everything we needed including a microwave and larger than usual refrigerator with a freezer section big enough for ice packs. The heater warmed the room quickly. The room was quiet with no noise coming from outside or inside all night long.
The bathroom was teeny tiny but clean. My husband told me the tub was a little slippery so I put a hand towel in the tub to stand on while I showered and had no problems. The shower stream and temperature adjustment were better than most hotels. I was happy there was a solid hand rail to grasp for safety in and out of the shower.
The mattress was slightly firm and comfortable. The sheets had a nice, thick feel as did the other bed linens. The pillows were plump just like I want them.
I didn’t expect much for breakfast at this price point so was pleasantly surprised at the choices. Scrambled eggs were hot and ready. We made ourselves waffles topped with butter and syrup. Other breakfast choices were toast, three dry cereals, a selection of instant oatmeal, yogurt, and fresh fruit including oranges, apples, and bananas. Beverage choices were caffeinated coffee, basic teabags plus six flavors of Stash tea, hot chocolate, orange and apple j
