What a beautiful hotel! The decor throughout the hotel has been tastefully designed. Our twin room was spacious with great views of Pen y Fan and a good size walk in shower. The hotel is in a superb location with free parking and easy walking to the historic town of Brecon. The restaurant is exquisite with a lovely atmosphere and very comfortable as are all the social rooms. We had a very enjoyable meal followed by a relaxing drink in the bar. Breakfast was delicious which rounded off our excellent stay in Brecon.

On the whole the food was good although there could have been more of a choice for the breakfast buffet eg. cheeses, nuts etc There was no choice of bedding and we found the thick quilt too warm for the time of year. The staff were polite and helpful. The view from the terrace and lounge was lovely

Just had a wonderful 3 night stay. Loved the place. I had a standard, large, comfortable quiet room, with comfy bed and spacious bathroom. I ate in at the hotel for all 3 nights and the food was superb. Good menu and each dish I had I could not fault, perfectly cooked and presented. Similarly the breakfasts were excellent. Staff were gracious and helpful at all times. I was on a 3 day solo motorcycling jolly. Hotel has good and free parking for residents .Great location for south Wales, pretty town and surroundings. I'll be back!

The dining and bar area was large and beautifully maintained. There was lots of outdoor seating too which has stunning views of the peaks. Staff were always happy to help and service was very quick. It was a very relaxing environment which was a perfect way to wind down in the evening.

Really comfy bed and room which was immaculate including a little note from housekeeping saying enjoy your stay! A lovely touch! Breakfast and my evening meal were absolutely delicious . All staff were very friendly and helpful. Special mention to the chef (with the jack russell puppy) who made the most amazing breakfast! The shower was powerful and the toiletries provided were of great quality.

A beautiful hotel in a lovely location. We stayed here for 4 nights in a Superior double room. The room had recently been refurbished. The bathroom was huge and very clean. The room itself was very nice with views across to the Beacons at the rear. Having the DAB radio on Radio3 was a nice touch when we arrived. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and professional. We paid extra for breakfast, and we dined in 2 nights too. Food was very good. Parking was ok but a little limited for the number of rooms. There is on-street parking close by and the Promenade car park is free 6pm-8am. Note: if you happen to have seen The Hotel Inspector episode from over 18 years ago with Alex Polizzi that features this hotel, please don’t be put off. Time has worked wonders. It is unrecognisable from then. I believe it’s now owned by The Coaching Inn Group. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

We were coming from Hay-on-wye where we checked out a day early due to disappointing accommodation and we booked the hotel last minute. The reviews informed us the hotel had recently been beautifully renovated but that there were some issues with the climate control (there was none). As the night was cool enough we did not have issues with the temperature and the ventilator next to the bed was put to good use. The entire hotel was gorgeous and tasteful. The staff was extremely helpful (and one of the waitresses was genuinely funny). The lady at the reception, whilst polite was just a tad snarky. At breakfast we noticed the manager was working in the breakfast room overseeing the breakfast, staff and tending to guest. Love that! That is what makes a hotel great. We also had dinner the night before and that was excellent as well. Will definitely want to come back or to any of the other hotels of the Coaching Inn Group.

Everything about the hotel was good except for the TV in the room. We couldn't get it to work as it had to be connected to the network. After trying for over 30 mins to get it to work using the hotel Wifi, we had to go to reception to ask for assistance. The girl on reception wrote out the details and password and we tried again, to no avail. Went down again to reception only for a man, who we took to be the Manager, didn't know how it worked but checked that what the receptionist had given us was correct. Once again we tried, but it still didn't work so went back to see receptionist who said all letters were small case even though she'd written the work TV in uppercase. We tried again and still no luck, so we abandoned the idea of watching the TV in the room and went to the pub. When we left in the morning we spoke to a different receptionist and explained what had happened. She said that she would report it to the appropriate person who she would ask to check it and sort out the problem.
