Unfortunately Rosemout did not live up to our expectations. The room was described as De Luxe but didn't exhibit any of the expected characteristics of "rich, elegant, or sumptuous; superior in quality, number of accessories".
There were no lamps on the bedside tables, no cups with the tea and coffee facilities which was probably just as well as the coffee sachets were at least two years out of date. The room was cold. The TV was little larger than an iPad. The toilet seat was partially dislodged from it's correct position.
At breakfast all guests are expected to sit together at one table, there was no menu to indicate what was available, the tea was delivered to the table in two mugs rather than a teapot and milk.
This property was described as a "homestay" which I gather can meant just a room in someones home so perhaps we were wrong to expect it to be more like a three star hotel.
On a positive note the view acroos the harbour was excellent and the proximity to town was very convenient. We have a lovely meal just a 10 minute stroll along the road at the Craigard House Hotel & Lochside Restaurant.
