We booked this accommodation back in 2025, so to arrive and be given a room in the attic with sloping ceilings, and not being able to stand up straight wasn't good. The bathroom was a make shift cupboard, nice enough, but very dark and cramped with low ceiling. This room is not designed for people to share, it has no head room, no space around the bed and all the sockets are under the eves, so you have to access via your hands and knees - terrible. Bath towels were damp on arrival and the room smelt musty Trying to use the camping kettle was hard and dangerous We did not use the hotel or restaurant

Lovely Village location, and quaint accommodation. I stayed in one of the rooms round the corner from the pub. It was a ground floor room with large bathroom. Things to note: No contact details in the room for reception / pub staff (same thing) No Wi-Fi details - had to go to pub and wait until the barman was free to ask. Only just enough toilet roll for one night for one person (not going to the pub to ask out loud) No plugs near the kettle so had to plug it in on the floor by the door. Food in the pub ok. There was limited availability for my dates in the village but I have stayed in better near by for less.

Room was nice and clean and bed comfortable. Handle on the shower door broken! Now the breakfast....I suggest anyone considering it go elsewhere. Avocado on toast was supposed to come with poacheded eggs, Did query with the staff member on duty, was told it didn't come with eggs, but then came with the two missing paoched eggs and an apology stating it did in fact come with eggs aftrrall, but this was only after the toast and avocado which they were supposed to accompany, had already been consumed! Full English was really greasy, barely warm, eggs appeared to have be deep fried, bizarre!! Needless to say, discarded that oddity! Bit of a Fawlty Towers experience on the whole!

The staff were very friendly on arrival however there were some miscommunication and we were left for half an hour waiting to be checked in whilst we were missing the wedding which we questioned, the room was okay, quite small and basic but no issues, unfortunately there were skid marks in the toilet from someone else which then made us question the cleanliness, the light had a sensor in the bathroom and it kept going on and off during the night making a clicking noise which was quite annoying.

Over all the hotel is good, it is in a great location and the staff were very friendly and professional. The room was good for an overnight stay and the food was good, with good portions. The downsides: toilet didn't work properly (reported) and the shower is on the small side; also there are no hooks or rails to hang coats / clothes from! The other downside particularly on the Friday night we stayed is that the bar was open to 1am and there was a live DJ; it was loud & interupted our sleep, & although it finished at midnight, people leaving were quite loud up to 1am. Overall OK but avoid the live music nights!
