My experience at Students Only Hollis Croft was very disappointing. Despite booking well in advance, I had to follow up several times before my reservation was confirmed. On arrival, the room had multiple issues: the mattress was not just uncomfortable — it was painful to sleep on. I ended up laying on top of the duvet and even some of my clothes just to make it bearable. The pillows lacked support, the hob did not work, the kettle socket was faulty, and the tap leaked.
I reported these problems to reception early in the day, but by the evening no action had been taken. Staff were unaware of my concerns and the manager was unavailable.
Overall, the accommodation and service did not meet basic standards. I found the stay stressful and felt that essential maintenance and guest support were lacking.
