I booked two rooms at this hotel through Hotels.com approximately two months in advance. When I arrived, I was informed that one of the rooms had been canceled. The reason for the cancellation was unclear and not explained.
While the hotel did have a room available, they did not honor the original rate I had secured at the time of booking. Instead, I was charged the current, higher rate.
The on-site staff contacted the manager, who was not present at the time. Despite being made aware of the situation, the manager declined to match the original booking rate.
Initially, the situation was frustrating. Looking back, I’m more puzzled by how the cancellation happened and why the rate couldn’t be honored, given the circumstances.
