Only stayed at this Travelodge to save money. First time I stayed, staff were miserable, but the second time the front desk staff were really nice. Both times I was given the disabled access room (when I have absolutely no disability, so what happens if a disabled guest checks in - I get moved??), and didn’t mind too much as I had loads of room. The shower drain in the bathroom was clogged with hair and scum, and with it being in the centre of the room, the water didn’t drain away so most of the floor was soaking wet, even overnight after a shower. The staff smoked below my 1st floor window so I had to keep it shut while they were out there or the whole room stank. There was no soap in the handwash cannister in the bathroom. The floor hadn’t been hoovered and was crummy. The carpet, especially in the public areas, was also not hoovered and either hadn’t been fitted properly or had stretched and moved into lumpy waves, so pulling or pushing a suitcase with wheels across it was difficult. But, the bed was comfy!
When I complained to the front desk about very noisy, shouting and screaming guests across the hallway from me, they did seem to sort it out pretty quickly.
The constant noise from the A329M and surrounding roads would possibly keep some people from sleeping, as there’s no aircon so you have to keep the window open for fresh air. They did provide a fan.
I didn’t go to the restaurant for breakfast, so can’t comment on that. Would I stay again? Nope!
