Once again, Comfort Inn appears to have emulated other hotel chains: if you book with a third party like hotels.com, you’ll be relegated to the worst rooms available. We choose Comfort Inn/Suites specifically because of their - up until lately - excellence in stay. This one put us in a room with mismatched furniture, stained curtains, uneven floors, a horrifically stained sofa, a fridge that could not be adjusted so it froze all our food and drinks solid, a bathroom with no towel hangers and a shower curtain rod falling out of the wall. Also, the room
smelled heavily of mildew, even after running the a/c the entire time. The pros, as expected: the breakfast, the bed and linens, the pool and hot tub. Another thing I noticed: there is no longer a discount when reserving rooms via hotels.com. The rooms on the hotel site itself were the exact same price as what was reserved through hotels.com
