8/10 Very good

Basic, clean, friendly place in a superb location.

Rooms totally fine, certainly on the small side - but to be expected. One thing to be aware of is that the hotel is very noisy - for some reason all the doors slam very loudly which disturbed both my nights there, so bring ear plugs!!

Nice little find

Comfortable, clean and well equipped room. Roads around are a little noisy, but can't escape the location. Took a while to find the message with the code and instructions to get into the hotel, so find this before you arrive.

Nice and well-located budget-friendly place

Quite hard to find a better option in this price range! Although small, the room provides all basic amenities and is clean and new. Personnel was friendly enough and the location is very convenient, 5mn from the tube in the Paddington district. If you're looking for luxury the Hilton is a few blocks away, otherwise this is perfect for a very affordable 2-3 night solo stay in the city.

6/10 Good

Very basic room with small chair and unusable table (read shelf) fixed on the wall. Wifi in the room was terrible, kept disconnecting every minute. Nearly zero soundproofing thru the walls and the floor. Generally clean, but left a lot to desire at that price.

+ Convenient location + Room had every basics covered (towel/bed linen/soap/hairdryer/kettle/hangers/black out curtains) + Decent bathroom with hot water - No cleaning during the stay - Noisy: Every door just bangs shut and that went on all night + noisy due to traffic (room at back at main street) - When I left the hotel at 6.30am, the front door was open/ajar - Reception opening hours 9am-4pm, which felt inadequate from a security perspective as well as not getting answers when needed (I sent a message via text and 4 days later am still waiting for a response)

Great hotel position

Our only issue was we expected a reception until five, so were perplexed, when there was no answer to the bell.

The stairs were hard after a long day. Service was good. Spoons in the room would have saved a stairs trip, but all sorted easily.

A revelation...

I don't normally add reviews, but this hotel deserves it. For £54, I got a central London single room for the night, in a refurbished hotel, in a clean and comfortable room. I almost didn't book it because I thought there must be a catch, given the price, but I'm so pleased I did. To be aware of - the reception is normally unstaffed. You have to retrieve your room card from a lockbox outside the front door of the hotel (code sent a couple of days in advance). But it all worked very smoothly. Believe me, I will try and stay here again!

Awful, overpriced and a joke to be called a hotel.

A great find. Small room but everything you need for a weekend in London.

Self check in will never be seamless but price low

There's a reason this hotel is cheap, so I accept a lower price but the self-check in works so so rarely. As such, the self-check in instructions are very clear but the door jammed and appears not to work. The phone number on the booking details has too many digits so doesn't connect anywhere, leaving just the option of messaging the hotel via the app I booked through. Then five minutes later someone "randomly walking by" who clearly is an employee, says "there's a knack to opening the door" which is something that should open - a door. Once in, basic as expected and perfectly comfortable room, very functional as most hotels at this price point. Just get the basics right of opening a door.

Lovely stay

Cant undesrand the bad reviews! Great location, spotlessly clean, good price and lovely breakfast. Room not huge but well designed and well appointed. Lovely stay.

Hotel was small and no elevator. The halls were filled of cleaning supplies and the person working the front desk was rude and unwelcoming. The air conditioning in the room was great however! Small room and bathroom ideal for one night wouldn’t stay longer. Don’t expect any level of customer service.

Our room was like Harry Potter’s room under the stairs. A tiny shack that did not look like the photos, at all. It was all the way on the 4th floor and there’s no lift in this building, so any coming and going was always a hassle. I understand the building is not equipped for a lift but I wish I knew we’d be on the 4th floor before I booked it. The area is fantastic tho, and the beds were comfortable enough. But the room was too small and when I looked under the bed it was filthy.

Odd to have to go put on the street to get to the basement restaurant for breakfast. I did not expect to climb four large flights of stairs to get to my room - No 20. The room was oddly shaped and difficult to watch the TV as it was too close to the bed. The bathroom was excellent and spotless.

Considering I booked this property for convenience and I did book it very late because I bought last-minute tickets for the boxing, I was rather impressed with the overall facilities and service of the property. Considering I paid £86 to stay in the centre of London near Paddington Station And be able to use a proper shower and hang my clothes up it was very good. however, after returning from the boxing event at Wembley, I was very much looking forward to my sleep however if I’m brutally honest, the bed was probably one of the most uncomfortable things I’ve ever slept on obviously it was a single as it was just in the room, however the matches is very uncomfortable it was only provided one pillow because of the heat as well and the weather conditions on the hotels fall I was unable to sleep instead of getting the hours I’ve planned probably got about three. It was also an issue not being able to fill up my water bottle anywhere apart from the tap which I didn’t think was the best. But for £86 a place to stay for convenience I was very impressed. I would just wish to have a bigger bed next time potentially but I would definitely come back if the situation was resolved.

Location is great. Management is terrible. They give you fresh towels every 3 days. I was there for 5 nights. At home I have clean towels every day. They advertised breakfast but stopped that so people still had it included in the room price. I booked 8 months ago.Yet it is still listed on their room info card. Rooms need to be cleaned on occasion. Under bed was all dust bunnies. I dropped something and had to retrieve it. Found a mens mascara in the process. Of all the hotels I've booked through Expedia, this was the worst. I think I am being generous with my rating. Location is only a block from Paddington station so underground and train to Paddington easy to get to.

About the only thing good about this place is the location. It’s incredibly noisy, between the banging of doors all day and night (the whole room shakes) and the paper thin walls that make it feel like street traffic and pedestrians are in the room with you. Our “king size” bed was much smaller than advertised. Both lamps in the room didn’t work so the only lighting options are incredibly bright lights that are all on one switch, or darkness. The staff also didn’t seem like they cared to be there at all. Zero acknowledgement from them in the 4 days we stayed there. Not even a hello. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!

Not great

I think is the poorest hotel stay I have stayed There were 22 single beds when I booked when in fact one was a folden futon that hurt my back all night I didnt get any sleep, mattress felt like a 5 cm foam topper, the room was on the top floor 5 flights of stairs to go up no lift and I had a foot injury so this was a nightmare, plus it was freezing and had a breeze from the broken window I was shivering during the night as the AC was so noise so decided to turn it off. I opted for the breakfast I do not know how they can call that a breakfast, no coffee (machine was broken), industrial bakery wrapped in plastic, 3 slices of dried ultra process meat and and all sugary items, horrible. I would avoid staying there
